STAAR Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

STAAR Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer Charitable organization dedicated to improving the outcomes for low-grade serous ovarian cancer STAAR - Survive. Thrive. Advocate. Advance Research.

STAAR Ovarian Cancer was founded in early 2020 by three women diagnosed with low-grade ovarian cancer. It is the only US-based non-profit dedicated to low-grade serous ovarian cancer - an extremely rare and underfunded subtype. STAAR focuses on raising research funding to extend the lives of women diagnosed with low-grade ovarian cancer and works with a global non-profit to identify and fund the m

ost relevant research proposals to expand treatment options. In addition to fundraising for research, STAAR hopes to help more women to be diagnosed at earlier stages via increased awareness of the most common symptoms.

This , we are reflecting on the power of collaboration across the low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC) community.

Today also marks the launch of the new LGSOC Resource Guide — a carefully curated collection of trusted information, support resources, and community connections created to help individuals living with LGSOC and those who care for them. We are honored that STAAR contributed resources alongside many other advocacy organizations and collaborators across the LGSOC community.

This year has been a powerful reminder of what can happen when patients, advocates, clinicians, researchers, and organizations work together. From supporting the 2026 international LGSOC Consensus Conference, to sharing patient perspectives through the worldwide LGSOC survey, to ensuring the patient voice is represented in conversations around research and drug development — every effort moves us closer to better care, stronger support systems, and more progress for this rare disease community.

Today, we celebrate the strength of the ovarian cancer community and the partnerships helping move this work forward together.
