Project Gratitude

Project Gratitude Bringing philanthropy to the door of busy families in Arlington Heights, Il.

What started out in 2015 with two little kids and their red wagon, collecting beans for the local pantry has evolved into a grass-roots effort bringing the community together working towards a collective good. In today's day and age, it is of utmost importance to educate the young on how to give back and get involved in their community. Project Gratitude is a philanthropy that allows the busy fami

ly an easy entry point for volunteering, and does so in a way that provides an opportunity for each family member to focus on what they are thankful for. With an attitude of gratitude, we can all be the best version of ourselves, and that benefits our society as a whole. "Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others" Cicero

Hello friends of Project Gratitude! We are ready to kick-off this year's sign up. We've created a FB Group to help manage communication. Please join that group to get the registration form. There will be a few questions to answer, because we want to make sure we have people on the group who are in AH, since there are multiple groups out there with a similar name.

Hope to see you there!

Project gratitude sign up will be going live this week!

Many of you have asked ways you can help. The planning team is happy to share this Amazon wish list with you if you feel like donating an item we use to prepare the baskets and packets for families. They will ship right to my house as we ready the materials for drop off at the end of the month.

Additionally, if you are someone who has access to color printing and wouldn’t mind running some copies, if you love Dollar Tree and would like to pick up baskets (which are now $1.50😐), or if you’d like a little at-home project of one portion of the assembly, we are happy to have the help! Just DM this account.

Wheeing township families are the best! Can’t wait to get this project started once again.

Check out this Gift List I just created.

Hello!
While project gratitude doesn’t really get fired up until October, much of the organizing team works in schools. So, this year we are getting a jump on the planning before the crazy fall semester.
That being said, many of you and our generous families have asked ways you can help. The planning team is happy to share this Amazon wish list with you if you feel like donating an item we use to prepare the baskets and packets for families. They will ship right to my house and we will start preparing some of the things early.
Additionally, if you are someone who has access to color printing and wouldn’t mind running some copies, if you love Dollar Tree and would like to pick up baskets, or if you’d like a little at-home project of one portion of the assembly, we are happy to have the help! Just DM this account.
Arlington families, you are the best! Every day, I am grateful I live in this amazing community.

We are awed and humbled at the generosity of the Arlington Heights community. Project Gratitude provided a good portion of the 400 baskets for our neighbors. We are so appreciative of all of the families and individuals who donated not to mention all of the scouting groups and dance companies and youth groups and church groups and teams and preschools and groups of friends. Community effort indeed! Here are a few photos from last night and today. A special shout out to the drivers who did not know they were signing up for sleet and snow when they agreed to this, but did it with a smile anyway! Also to Mickey and Julie and the Wheeling Township crew who made it easy on the drop off!

DM us with any feedback you have so that we can make improvements as we go. Also, we will be switching over to a Facebook group, so be looking for that and be sure to join and tell your friends.

Hello! The basket pick-up rounds are scheduled. An Evite just went out for each pick-up group (Wed evening or Thur morning). If you didn't get it, or you need to switch, please let us know ASAP. The intent is to accommodate all the first choice requests, so if that didn't happen for some reason please don't hesitate to let us know!

Looking forward to seeing all those baskets full of food and love for our neighbors.

Another giving opportunity! Please connect directly with the Wheeling Township for this one. They are looking for donors for their Adopt-a-Family program.

Donors need to contact the Wheeling Township by Nov.15th to sign up to provide gifts for a local family. Donors are asked to spend $75-100 per family member, purchasing items from their wish list. You decide the family size you would like to support.

See more details in the comments.

If you received a basket this year, you should have also just received an email with an Evite. Please use this evite to respond about your preferred timing for us to pick up your baskets: Wed 11/20 evening starting at 6:30 pm or Thur 11/21 morning starting at 8:30am. Please send the form by Friday night (11/15) so we have time to start planning the routes with our driving crews. Thanks!

Hi all! Seems like we had some technical issues and did not receive inputs from multiple people who submitted forms. Or possibly an old link was still floating around. Apologies for this!

We’ve reached out to the food pantry to ask about adding more, but they hit their max of 400 families (our group is supporting 70 of them!!).

So if you haven’t gotten a basket, we encourage you to donate directly to the food pantry with their general need items. Thanks.

Taking notes for next year to communicate back and confirm forms received. Thanks for your patience. 🙏
