Our Bodies, Our Stories, Our Choices. 💜

On Intersex Day of Solidarity, we stand firm in our commitment to bodily autonomy for all, especially our beautiful intersex siblings within the BIPOC LGBTQIA+ community and beyond.

For far too long, intersex individuals have faced non-consensual medical interventions and a lack of control over their own bodies and health decisions.

This is a fundamental violation of human rights and a critical area where prevention philosophy must be centered: preventing harm, preventing unwanted procedures, and ensuring informed consent.

We advocate for:
• The right to self-determination: Every intersex person deserves the absolute right to make informed decisions about their own body, health, and identity, free from coercion or medical gatekeeping.

• Ending non-consensual surgeries: We demand an end to unnecessary and often harmful medical interventions on intersex infants and children, ensuring they can grow up to make their own choices.

• Access to affirming care: Comprehensive healthcare that respects intersex variations, provides accurate information, and supports the holistic well-being of intersex individuals throughout their lives.

• Education and awareness: Elevating intersex voices and experiences to combat stigma and ensure understanding within our communities and medical institutions.
