Toure Muhammad is a Chicago-based journalist, digital marketing strategist, and community advocate who has spent more than 30 years using media and storytelling to uplift Black voices and businesses. Through Black Chicago Eats, he has built a powerful platform that connects audiences to Black-owned restaurants, turning visibility into real economic impact and helping reshape how Black culinary culture is discovered and supported. He is also the visionary behind Taste of Black Chicago, a large-scale food and culture event that brings together thousands to celebrate Black culinary excellence while creating revenue opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

Muhammad’s career began in journalism, where he reported on critical issues affecting Black communities, from police misconduct to education and housing. His work has appeared in publications such as The Final Call, Chicago Defender, N’digo, Jet, and the New York Amsterdam News. Known for his insightful and community-centered reporting, he has interviewed elected officials, civil rights leaders, activists, and influential cultural figures, documenting stories that inform and inspire.
