In loving memory of our extraordinary Charlotte Bader, beloved Treasurer and cherished friend of AIWA Chicago Affiliate. Charlotte was a truly exceptional woman—a free and independent soul who lived life fully and fearlessly. She skied with grace well into her seventies, always arrived chic and elegant in high heels, beautiful jewelry, impeccable makeup, and that radiant smile. She drove her own car with confidence and loved offering rides to others…always ready to help. We admired her deeply and told her so often—her presence brightened every room and every meeting. The board will especially miss her meticulous, flawless treasurer’s reports, and we will all miss her wise, warm presence on our board. AIWA Chicago and AIWA Lifetime Member Mrs. Sonya Doumanian were pleased to host a dinner/get-together that took place on September 16, 2025, in Chicago. We are so excited to announce our official open invitation & details for AIWA's Annual Meeting weekend! Join AIWA members from all over the country on May 19 for our Friday Night Welcome Reception held in the Huron Room of the Warwick Allerton Hotel (701 N. Michigan Avenue at 7:00 - 9:00pm).

All members are invited to join our Annual Meeting the following morning on Saturday, May 20, at the Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile Suites Hotel (198 E. Delaware Place), where we hope to spark connections, engage with meaningful conversation, and discuss 2023 AIWA International conference, the latest on AIWA's activities, and what can be done in the future to continue making our voices as Armenian women heard.

We will begin our day with a light breakfast at 9:00 am, followed by the meeting at 10:00 am and lunch at 12:00 pm. During lunch, guest speaker Astrid Kamalyan, author of the children's book Bábo: A Tale of Armenian Rug-Washing Day, will address the meeting's attendees.

For Saturday night, meeting attendees may choose to enjoy Chicago's exceptional culinary scene, including Armenian-owned Sayat Nova and Kostali by Naha restaurants. A list of nearby restaurants will be provided to attendees so that they may make their own reservations.

Ticket price is $200 per person including Friday night reception, breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
