One of the great unappreciated tragedies of stillbirth and perinatal loss is that, while on that horrific day, a mother and family have to leave the hospital without their precious baby, they don't get to leave their medical bills behind. These bills can cause financial stress and be a painful reminder of a loss for many months.
To help ease some of the burden, we would like to identify families in need of financial assistance to pay their hospital bills resulting from a stillbirth or perinatal loss.

If you or someone you know has experienced a loss and could use financial support, please email:

[email protected]

Please include the following information in your email:

Mother's name
Baby's name (if applicable)
Baby’s birthday (date of stillbirth)
Baby’s due date
Delivering hospital
Dates of stay
Amount of support requested and copy of your medical bill (please redact any sensitive personal information)
Your baby's story (if comfortable sharing)
How this financial support would help your family
Best way for us to contact you
Upon our review and approval of an application, we will reach out to you to coordinate payments directly to the hospital.

If you are a mother or family in need, we are so sorry for your extraordinary loss, and we hope we can help ease some of your pain, if only in this minor way.

If you are someone who can help us identify a family in need, we thank you for your support and the support of families hurting like ours.

Sincerely,
Kate Moran and Joe Moran

On September 27, 2018 our little girl entered the world. It should have been the best day of our lives but instead our lives were suddenly turned upside down. Our beautiful girl, Charlotte Leigh, "Charlie" passed away in utero from an umbilical cord accident. We were 35 weeks along in a seemingly perfect pregnancy. There were no signs that led us or our doctor to believe that Charlie wasn't going to be a healthy baby girl. The days, weeks and months following her loss were unimaginable. Thankfully, we had an amazing system of family, friends and medical team who were able to provide us with the love and support we needed to cope and grieve.

Unfortunately, what happened to Charlie will happen to others. 1% of all pregnancies end in stillbirth and about 10% of those stillbirths are due to umbilical cord accidents. Currently, there is no prevention for such a tragedy. While we hope that someday medical advancements will allow us to detect and prevent this, for now we feel the need to help other families who will inevitably end up in similar situations.
