I am so excited to announce that I have been given the opportunity to continue my journey with the St. Jude Leadership Society (SJLS) in 2023!

Over these next several months I will continue to enhance my leadership skills as I serve as SJLS Peer Advisor. In this role, I am supporting a mini cohort of four (4) local SJLS members as well as partaking in a series of national peer advisor trainings/meetings that will aid in further cementing the leadership traits that most resonate with me. I get to accomplish all of this while supporting and serving St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's lifesaving mission of finding cures for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

With your abundant generosity, kindness and encouragement, I raised over $13,000 in a 4-month period. I was also the proud recipient of a few incredible accolades during my introductory year with SJLS. I was awarded with the Best Leadership Essay, Most Funds Raised and the Inspire Award (all for the Chicago cohort).

I am setting my initial fundraising goal for this year at $3,000 and I am hoping SJLS, and I can count on you again.

I am so excited about being part of SJLS again this year and wanted to share some details about an upcoming a fun night at Chicago Wolves for an SJLS Give Back Night!

The SJLS Chicago Cohort is so excited about this new partnership and we are thrilled that their organization is helping us get the ball rolling on our fundraising efforts at their last home game of the season.

Come see and the SJLS Chicago Cohort at the game on Sunday, April 16th at 3pm.

Tickets for the game are $26.50 and $10 from each ticket will go back to St. Jude and will count towards my fundraising goal. All tickets will be in a St. Jude section.

The end of this week marks the start April 1st, which means I have 1 month left in my St. Jude Leadership Society fundraising period.

Right now, I am sitting at 80% achievement of my goal.

Receiving a cancer diagnosis for your child is frightening enough, now imagine having to flee your country due to war, being homeless, and having the uncertainty if you child will be bale to continue receiving treatment/care. Thank you St. Jude!

This is my last fundraising push before the SJLS deadline of May 1st.

The owners of CrossFit Des Plaines (CFDP) have embraced this cause and because of their generosity all donations will be given to St. Jude.

As we head into March, I am at the halfway point for the May 1st fundraising deadline for SJLS. I have a couple of things planned for this upcoming month that I am quite excited about and scream Spring to me.

The first are these hand painted and hand lettered Easter basket tags. My family and I have talked and laughed at the kitchen table while painting the beads and I love hand lettering the names.

ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to SJLS.

Bunny tags = $12
Rectangular tags = $10

Each tag will include 3 painted beads. Hand lettering is done with a black paint pen.

You can let me, my mom or dad know if you would like to purchase a tag or two or several, LOL.

We can also ship these for a small additional fee.

Last Sunday I participated in a live SJLS session at Vision Quest Coaching. The takeaway message was that a person cannot be a truly effective leader without first working on themselves. We discussed different ways to take care of our mind and bodies, as well as how to put ourselves first and not feel bad about it.

I had such a fun week participating in the Stella & Dot virtual event that my Aunt Tammy hosted for me. I learned some new styling tips and heard about new skin care products. I also learned a bit more about some of you and how important it is to set aside time for yourself.

Your support has been INCREDIBLE!

I increased my initial fundraising goal a couple weeks back from $2,500 to $5,100.

A quick check today showed that I am at $5,130! I am wishy washy about increasing my goal for a 2nd time, but it feels weird to just stop now.

I have until May 1st to hit my revised goal of $7,500.

I am hoping I can continue to count on you all and that you will share my journey with those you know.

It was such a busy week between school and practice that I feel I didn't pay enough attention to the SJLS things I wanted to accomplish.

I was able to do a few things today that made me feel good and refreshed (breakfast with my mom, a trip to the bookstore, some lounging around and watching a bit of TV).

Time to focus on SJLS!
