Spring cleaning is in full swing! Join us all of May for a special 'Call For Action' event with Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corp and United Way of Metro Chicago for a clothes and shoe drive!

Drop off gently used clothes and shoes to The Gaia Movement's Climate Center at 8918 S Green St. Chicago, IL 60620 or call GAGDC for the closest drop off location!

Carrots love the sun! 🌞

They need 6-10 hours of light and well-drained soil, including sandy soil! Don’t have too much rich soil, or they won’t grow deep. Keep it balanced and keep the soil moist for the best harvest! 🥕

Awesome way to beautify the neighborhood and work with your community!!! 👏🏽

We're teaming up with Cozy Rhody Litter Clean-up for a neighborhood cleanup around City Farm on Saturday, May 9, from 10:00am to noon.

With Plant Sale 2026 just around the corner, this is a great chance to help us put our best foot forward for the neighborhood. All supplies are provided. The organizers recommend long pants and boots since you may find yourself in tall grass.

Stick around after, the group usually grabs food or drinks nearby!

So proud to be part of a mission that makes such a positive impact on others. Gaia's involvement with the Farmer's Club has enabled us to assist with sustainable farming efforts and education that greatly assist farmers in Zimbabwe!

We were thrilled to have students from Northwestern University come out to Gaia's Climate Center for a tour and hands on service project over their spring break!

Students planted a berry tree in the bird habitat, cleaned up the community, and got into the garden to plant Swiss Chard and Kale! It was amazing having the students learn more about Gaia's mission in the community and globally.

Students enjoyed being hands on and actively helping the community and the environment stating, "It is a way to become an active citizen by learning about social issues and getting to know people who are especially impacted here in Chicago."

Did you know the average US citizen throws away 70 pounds of clothing and other textiles annually. Then it takes up to 40 years to decompose 🤯

That's a lot of clothes sitting in landfills and increasing global carbon emissions everyday. Do your part and reuse or repurpose your clothes and when you're done recycle them so someone else can use them!
