New ParentSquare Attendance Procedures

Allegheny Valley School District families now have an easier way to communicate student attendance information through ParentSquare. Parents and guardians can now use ParentSquare to:

Report an Upcoming Absence
• Know your student will be absent? Report it ahead of time using the Attendance feature in ParentSquare.

Respond to an Attendance Notice
• If your student is marked absent or tardy, you may receive a ParentSquare notice by app, email or text. Open the notice, select Send Note to School, enter the reason and submit.

Important: Do not reply directly to an attendance text or email. You must open the ParentSquare notice and submit your response. For step-by-step instructions, visit our website through the QR code or this link: tinyurl.com/avsdabsences

Dynamo Pride Takes Center Stage at FanFest!
Springdale Jr-Sr High School was filled with Dynamo Pride during FanFest on Wednesday. Fans got an early look at the teams that will be representing our community on the field, on the pitch and in the gym, while the Springdale Marching Band gave everyone a sneak preview of its new show. And, of course, our Dynamos cheerleaders made sure the spirit and energy were at an all-time high! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and helped make FanFest a great celebration of everything it means to be a Dynamo.

Rain couldn’t dampen the first-day excitement in the Allegheny Valley School District!

It may have been a rainy start to the morning, but there were plenty of smiles, hugs, and excitement as students arrived at Acmetonia Primary School for the first day of a brand-new school year! From backpacks and umbrellas to warm welcomes from our teachers and staff, it was wonderful to see our students back and ready to learn, grow and make new memories.

What a fantastic day at Reddy, Set, Go!

Thank you to all of the students, families, staff and community partners who joined us to kick off the new school year. The event was a tremendous success, helping families get connected and Reddy for an exciting year ahead.

Students picked up their district-issued 1:1 devices, families learned about important resources like ParentSquare, Parent Portal, Healthy Roster and the GoGuardian Parent App, and visitors connected with the Acmetonia PTO, Dynamo Virtual Academy and student organizations.

There was plenty of fun, too! Students enjoyed games, cooled off with free Kona Ice courtesy of AVSD, and visited food trucks including Cousins Maine Lobster - Pittsburgh, PA and Main Squeeze.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Reddy, Set, Go! such a memorable event. We can't wait to welcome our students back for an amazing school year!

Back-to-School Week is here in Allegheny Valley! The halls are coming back to life, and we’re getting Reddy for another great school year.

Monday: Teachers returned to school today for their first official day preparing for the arrival of our students.

Tuesday: Reddy, Set, Go! — Noon–6 p.m. at Springdale Jr.-Sr. High School. Get everything you need to be “Reddy” for the new year!

Wednesday: Springdale Athletics FanFest — 6–8 p.m. at the Athletic Field. Meet our fall teams and celebrate Dynamo Pride!

Thursday: It’s the big day — our students are back!

We’re excited for a great week and an even better school year!

Get everything you need for a successful start to the school year—one week from today!

Every student and at least one parent/guardian is strongly encouraged to attend! At Reddy, Set, Go!, families can:
• Pick up their student's district-issued 1:1 device
• Learn about ParentSquare, Parent Portal, Healthy Roster and GoGuardian

• Enjoy FREE Kona Ice for every attendee!

Springdale Jr-Sr High School has been named a Week 1 Winner in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition!

Thanks to the incredible support of our Springdale community, our school will receive $5,000 to support the Dynamos Football Program and its ongoing initiatives. We’re proud to celebrate this exciting achievement for Springdale Jr-Sr High School and the entire Allegheny Valley School District—but we're not done winning yet!

The Dynamos can win again: We have a chance to win $5,000 every week through Friday, Sept. 25. The more our community shares our posts, tags Springdale Jr-Sr High School and , and uses and , the better our chances of advancing to the next level of the competition. At the next level, schools can win $25,000—and ultimately have a chance to capture the $1 million grand prize.

Kick off the fall sports season with Springdale Jr-Sr High School FanFest!
Join us on Wednesday, August 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the Springdale Jr-Sr High School Athletic Field as we introduce our fall athletic teams, band, and cheerleaders. Meet the Dynamos, enjoy music and grab something to eat from local vendors and booster groups!
