May is National , a time to celebrate the resource parents, kinship caregivers, social workers, and volunteers who make a profound difference in the lives of children.

Resource parents play a vital role in helping children through difficult transitions, providing not just the basics, but the emotional support that allows them to grow and thrive.

This month, let us express our deepest gratitude to these providers of out-of-home care. The rewards of foster parenting are immeasurable, leaving an indelible mark on both the caregiver and the child.

All funds go directly to the Kent County CARES Foundation, which helps to protect children against abuse and neglect, and preserves families against violence or breakdown. Also supports self-sufficiency of vulnerable adults and children by funding needs not otherwise met through State, Federal or Local funding.

Congratulations to our own Beverly Birkmire.

Congratulations Beverly Hoffman Birkmire for being Volunteer of the year for the Kent County CARES Foundation Beverly has been an active member of the Kent County CARES Foundation since October 2017. She educates the community about the mission of the CARES Foundation and takes great pride in her new role as Co-Chair assisting in any way she can. She is an asset to the Board.
