Gateway Alliance against Human Trafficking

GAHT educates communities and inspires positive systemic change to end human trafficking.

Gateway Human Trafficking envision creating a safe world for all children. We follow the “3P” paradigm of prosecution, protection, and prevention that continues to serve as the fundamental framework around the world including the United States to combat human trafficking. This approach is reflected in the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (Palermo Protocol) and in the United States’ Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000, as amended (TVPA). Furthermore, the addition of the fourth P of “Partnership” with our community partners and agencies is key to our success.

This year, Gateway Alliance Against Human Trafficking was excited to participate in Tower Grove Pride for the very first time! With more than 150 nonprofit organizations coming together, it was an incredible opportunity to connect with the community, share resources, and talk about the work Gateway Alliance is doing across the St. Louis region.

We were proud to share information about human trafficking and its intersection with the LGBTQIA+ community, including the unique vulnerabilities that LGBTQIA+ individuals can face when experiencing discrimination, housing instability, family rejection, exploitation, and other barriers to safety and support.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a welcoming and inclusive event. Awareness creates understanding, and understanding can help create safer communities for everyone.
