Today we celebrate the life of my sweet friend, LCpl Jackson Forringer.
He would have been 23 years old today.

There are some people who leave a mark on your life that never fades—and Jackson was one of those people. He was selfless, full of love, and constantly reminded everyone around him what really matters.

Losing him is something I will never fully understand, but I do know this—his life had purpose, and his impact is still very much alive.

In honor of his 23rd birthday, I’m asking for donations of $23.

Every dollar will go toward helping active-duty military members get flights home to their families through Flights for Freedom—something I know Jackson deeply believes in.

If you can’t donate, sharing this post means just as much.
Let’s celebrate him the best way we know how—by loving others well, just like he did.

✨ HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM FLIGHTS FOR FREEDOM! ✨

As we close out this year, I am honestly blown away. My small idea of a Facebook post has flourished & grown into something that is changing the lives of our military. It’s providing opportunity. It’s creating memories.

This has been our best year yet at Flights for Freedom. I am so happy & unbelievably proud to announce that we were able to approve 20 applicants this year!!!! Yes, 2 0 ! 🥹
That number represents answered prayers, reunions, & moments that truly matter. None of this would be possible without our incredible community, our faithful donors, & our amazing sponsors who continue to believe in this mission.

🎄 Holiday Flight APPROVED! ✈️

We are honored to share that SSG Warren, United States Army, has been approved for flight assistance this Christmas. After spending months deployed away from home, he’ll now be able to return to Texas to be with his children for the holidays—a reunion that means so much to him.

SSG Warren, thank you for your 15 years of service and for the sacrifices you and your family make every day. We are grateful to help bring you home this season.

Meet Airman Saiz, proudly serving in the United States Air Force!
Saiz will be flying home to California to spend the holidays with the people who mean the most to him—his family.

Saiz shared that the holidays are a time of love and togetherness, and being home fills a missing piece in his family’s heart. After missing Christmas last year, he dreams of surprising his parents and sister, sitting under Christmas lights, and waking up to open presents with them—“like I never left.” He also hopes to celebrate his childhood best friend’s birthday!

Guess who’s coming home for Christmas!?!

Sturdevant, currently serving in the U.S. Army! He’s coming home for Christmas all the way from GERMANY!
He applied so he could come home right here to South Carolina for the holidays — a time he shared is incredibly important to him because his family is the primary reason he enlisted.

Yesterday I made a Giving Tuesday post, and once again, my Flights for Freedom supporters and family absolutely amazed me. You all have never failed me — not once — and I honestly get emotional when I think about it.

I truly believe that yesterday we witnessed a Christmas miracle. With complete transparency, I had closed our applications on December 1st due to low funds. But yesterday alone… you helped raise just over $2,000. That is unbelievable.
I am so happy to announce that applications are back open.

Whether you support Flights for Freedom through donations, likes, shares, engagement, or even just kind words — thank you. Every single bit of support matters. I know I say it often, but I mean it with my whole heart: we would not be successful without YOU.

Today feels extra special, because I’m sharing a throwback from the very first year this idea blossomed… long before Flights for Freedom even had a name. It started as a simple Facebook post and a hope that we could help one military member make it home for Christmas.

And look at what God, this community, and so many generous hearts have done since then.

This mission has FLOURISHED.
You all have stood 10 toes behind it from day one, and because of you, we have been able to bless the hearts of so many military members and their families.

You cannot get holidays back.

That’s why Flights for Freedom will always honor the importance of family time, togetherness, and helping our service members make it home when it matters most.

Meet Airman Bucklin, US Air Force!

This Thanksgiving, Airman Bucklin will be traveling to Honolulu to spend the holiday with her family — something incredibly meaningful after losing her father a few years back and learning firsthand how precious time together can be. With both her and her brother proudly serving, and 5 children she is raising to honor the values taught by her family and the military, she continues to live a life dedicated to service, gratitude, and strength.

She shared how the military has not only shaped her career, but has given her a second family who supported her through profound loss. As her family prepares for a Permanent Change in Station, this holiday together means everything.

We are honored to help make this reunion happen. ❤️✈️🦃

As the holidays inch closer, our mission continues to grow — and so does the need.

This year, we are honored to share that 12 (yes, TWELVE!) military members have been approved for flight assistance and we still aren’t done! That’s our best year yet, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

BUT our work isn’t finished. With each passing day, holiday flight prices rise, and we never want to turn away a service member who simply wants to come home. We are still receiving applications almost DAILY!!!
