✨What an incredible week at the FHF Drone Camp!
Last week, our hangar was buzzing with energy, excitement, and serious innovation as a wonderful group of campers joined us for a full week of hands-on learning.
Here is a quick look at everything these amazing kids accomplished:
👷Built From Scratch: Campers rolled up their sleeves and built their very own drones from the ground up, learning the ins and outs of aerospace engineering.
🏆Earned Official Certification: Every camper successfully passed the FAA TRUST test, earning their official recreational drone certification!
💫Navigated the Obstacle Course: Teams put their piloting skills to the test, competing head-to-head as they maneuvered through challenging aerial obstacle courses.
🧠Showcased Their Knowledge: The week culminated in fantastic team presentations, where campers showed off their hard work, flight skills, and drone builds to parents and family.
Seeing these young aviators fully engage, collaborate, and apply real-world STEM concepts was inspiring. We couldn't be prouder of their growth, focus, and teamwork!
📣 A huge thank you to the Chesapeake Police Department for visiting camp. The campers loved learning about how high-tech drones are used for real-world public safety, from search-and-rescue operations to mapping fields. Watching the officers demonstrate their equipment in action gave our youth a front-row look at how technology keeps our community safe every day.
Thank you to all the families who joined us for the final showcase and supported our campers throughout the week. We can't wait to see where their STEM journeys take them next! 🚀✨
