When was the last time someone asked how you’re doing: and really meant it?

As dads raising children with special needs, we carry a lot on our backs. We’re the fixers, the protectors, and the advocates. But let’s be honest: you can’t pour from an empty cup, and your own health often takes a backseat to everyone else’s needs.

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 17th, we’re gathering to focus on us: Men’s Wellness and Health.

This isn’t a clinical lecture. It’s a supportive space for dads who "get it." Whether you’re looking for ways to manage the stress or just need to be around guys who understand the 2 AM worries and the IEP battles, you belong here.

Come as you are. You can share your story or just sit back and listen. No judgment, just solidarity.

It’s the news no special needs parent ever wants to hear. You finally find that one school: the "godsend" that actually understands your child’s unique way of moving through the world: and then, suddenly, it’s gone.

Hearing about specialized schools closing due to safety concerns is a gut-punch. As dads, we’re built to be protectors. Our #1 job is keeping our kids safe. But we also know that without that intensive, expert help, our kids (and our families) can struggle to keep our heads above water.

How do you balance it? How do you weigh the desperate need for specialized support against the absolute, non-negotiable priority of safety? It’s a heavy weight to carry, and it’s okay to feel heartbroken and frustrated. When was the last time someone asked how you were holding up through it all?

If you’re navigating these impossible choices, know that you don’t have to do it alone. We’re a group of dads who truly get it. Come as you are: no judgment, just support.

Join us every 3rd Wednesday.

When was the last time a policy maker actually sat in your living room during a meltdown?

We just heard the news that the U.S. Department of Education is being sued over massive cuts to special education training. It feels like another blow to families already fighting for every inch of progress. When they cut training for the people working with our kids, it’s our children who pay the price.

We carry a lot on our backs as dads. Between the IEP meetings, the therapy schedules, and just trying to be present, the last thing we need is a "top-down" budget cut making things harder. It’s frustrating to see resources stripped away while we’re on the ground doing the work.

But here’s the thing: you aren’t alone in that frustration. We’re all feeling the weight. Advocacy isn't always a loud protest; sometimes it’s just standing up and saying, "My kid’s progress isn’t optional."

How are these cuts hitting your school district? Or are you just tired of the constant uphill battle? No judgment here: just a space for dads who get it.

Drop a ✊🏾 if you’re ready to stand up for our kids.

Knowledge is the best tool we have to protect our kids. 🛠️

As dads of children with special needs, we’re always looking out for their next step. But what about the 'long game'? Understanding Guardianship, Trusts, and SSI isn’t just paperwork: it’s about peace of mind and securing their future.

Join us this Wednesday to get the real facts from The Arc. Let's get the knowledge we need to make sure our kids are taken care of, no matter what. ✊🏾

Ever find yourself sitting in the grocery store parking lot for an extra 10 minutes just to enjoy the silence? 🤫 🚗

We love our kids to the moon and back, but the 24/7 "on" mode of being a special needs dad is a lot. Taking a breather isn't selfish: it's necessary.

If you're looking for a place where you can drop the 'superhero' act and just be a guy among friends, come hang out with us. We get it.

Next meeting: Every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Ever feel like you're stuck on a permanent waitlist? Whether it's for a therapist, a specialist, or just a call back from the school, we get the frustration. You don't have to wait alone. Our crew at The Fathers Group has been there and might have some shortcuts to share.

Join us for some real talk and dinner on our next meeting (3rd Wed of the month).

Raise your hand if your 'quiet place' is the driver’s seat of your car in the driveway. 🙋‍♂️🚗

We know the feeling. The 'extra gear' we carry as special needs dads is heavy, and sometimes you just need five minutes of silence before heading inside.

If you missed our meeting this week, don't sweat it. We’re here every day in spirit and every 3rd Wednesday in person. You’re doing a great job, Dad. Take that breath.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. 🧡

Thinking back to day one: how has your definition of 'strength' changed? At the start, it might have been about holding it all together. Now, maybe strength is knowing when to ask for help or finding joy in the smallest victories.

We’re here: then, now, and always. If you’re a dad in NJ raising a child with special needs, you’ve got a seat at our table. ✊🏾
