Well, folks! Cherokee FBLA does it again! We learned that there were 79 student submissions this year in total, and again, Cherokee was the only county school represented at the finals. The hard work paid off, as our students secured TWO wins and a collective $500 at Shoals Spark 2024!

🥇1st place and $400-Emily, Kinley, and Olivia
🥉3rd place and $100- Porter

Not a bad way to end the night! Cherokee FBLA students continue to rise to the challenge and represent our small but mighty school in BIG ways. Goooo Indians!

We kicked off our competition trip by visiting one of the best small businesses in the Shoals—David Christopher's! We hand-poured our own custom candles and even got to learn some behind-the-scenes business insights from David himself. It’s been a highlight of the trip(and of course had to get a pic with the PINK tree!) We really are so lucky to have this business right here in our community!

UAH hosted us for their “Millionaire Mastermind” competition today, and as always, Cherokee FBLA students represented us so well! Students were given 1 hour to research the stock market and prepare a presentation. They presented their findings to a panel of judges, supporting their positions about their buy/sell recommendations. The competition was tough, and we’re proud to be coming home with 3rd place recognition!

Josh and Steven asked to incorporate something a little unconventional into their business pitch presentation today….and the crowd went wild! They helped illustrate how out-of-the-box thinking and risk-taking can really pay off! Please enjoy this snippet of their opening slide.

Overheard while beginning our New Year’s goal setting activity: “I want to earn my next Microsoft certification!”

These students worked really hard and earned one credential last semester, and some are already working toward another. Microsoft certifications are some of the most applicable to a variety of industries, and allow students to build their resume and skill set simultaneously. Please join me in congratulating the below students on investing in their futures this way!
