๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸคŽ THE BODY REMEMBERS โ€” DAY 17: CAN I TAKE PICTURES?

When a baby dies, parents may be left with so many questions. One of them might be, โ€œCan I take pictures of my baby?โ€

The answer is often yes, when circumstances allow. And if this is something you want, it is okay to ask. ๐ŸคŽ

You may wonder whether youโ€™ll want the pictures later. You may worry that looking at them will hurt too much. You may not feel ready to make that decision in the moment.

There is no way to know exactly how youโ€™ll feel in the days, months, or years ahead. Thatโ€™s why some families choose to take photographs, even if theyโ€™re unsure whether theyโ€™ll look at them right away.

Photographs may become a way to remember your babyโ€™s face, tiny hands and feet, the time you spent together, and the love that was present in a moment that may feel difficult to put into words.

๐ŸŒป You can ask your nurse or bereavement team about photography options.

๐ŸŒป You can take your time. You donโ€™t have to look at the pictures immediately.

๐ŸŒป You can ask about help. Some hospitals offer remembrance photography or can help you create keepsakes.

๐ŸŒป You can choose what feels right. If you donโ€™t want photographs, or circumstances donโ€™t allow them, that choice deserves the same tenderness and respect.

If youโ€™re unsure, you can ask your care team what options are available. You donโ€™t have to make every decision all at once.

And if you werenโ€™t able to take pictures, please be gentle with yourself. You made the best decisions you could with the information, support, and circumstances you had at the time.

Your baby is more than a photograph. Your love is more than a memory. And your story deserves to be honored. ๐ŸคŽ

At Too Precious for This World, we honor every baby, every family, and every unique journey through pregnancy and infant loss.

๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸคŽ THE BODY REMEMBERS โ€” DAY 16: CAN I BATHE MY BABY?

Itโ€™s a question some parents may never think to ask until theyโ€™re faced with the unimaginable: โ€œCan I bathe my baby?โ€

For some families, gently washing or bathing their baby may be an opportunity to care for them, spend meaningful time together, and create a memory they will carry with them.

But what is possible depends on your babyโ€™s condition and the circumstances of the loss. Your nurse, doctor, or bereavement care team can explain what care options are available and guide you through them.

If youโ€™re considering this, you can ask:

๐ŸŒป โ€œCan I gently wash or bathe my baby?โ€

๐ŸŒป โ€œCan someone guide me through the process?โ€

๐ŸŒป โ€œCan I help dress or wrap my baby afterward?โ€

๐ŸŒป โ€œWhat other ways can I spend time with my baby?โ€

You donโ€™t have to know what to do. You donโ€™t have to make every decision at once. And you donโ€™t have to navigate these moments without support.

Some parents may want to bathe their baby. Others may prefer to hold their baby, speak to them, take photographs, or simply sit beside them. Every familyโ€™s circumstances and wishes are different.

There is no right or wrong way to love your baby through this moment. ๐ŸคŽ

If bathing isnโ€™t possible, your care team may be able to help you explore other meaningful ways to spend time with your baby.

You deserve information, tenderness, and the freedom to ask questions without fear of judgment.

๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸคŽ THE BODY REMEMBERS โ€” DAY 15: CAN I HOLD MY BABY?

One of the questions parents may have after pregnancy or infant loss is, โ€œWill I be able to hold my baby?โ€

Sis, if this is a question youโ€™ve carried, we want you to know that you can ask. ๐ŸคŽ

When possible, parents may have the opportunity to hold, touch, or spend time with their baby after a loss. Your healthcare team can explain what options are available based on your babyโ€™s condition and your circumstances.

For some parents, holding their baby becomes a cherished moment of connection. For others, it may feel too overwhelming, or circumstances may not allow it. Some parents may change their minds as they process what is happening.

There is no single right way to navigate this moment.

๐ŸŒป You can ask questions.
๐ŸŒป You can request time with your baby.
๐ŸŒป You can ask your care team about photographs, handprints, footprints, or other memory-making options.
๐ŸŒป You can decide what feels right for you and your family, without pressure or judgment.

And if you werenโ€™t able to hold your baby, please know that it does not diminish your love or your connection.

Your baby mattered. Your love matters. Every familyโ€™s experience deserves compassion. ๐ŸคŽ

At Too Precious for This World, we honor every baby and every familyโ€™s journey through loss.

๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸคŽ DAY 14: YOUR BODY IS NOT BETRAYING YOU.

After pregnancy and infant loss, it can be hard to understand why your body keeps doing what it was designed to do when your baby is no longer here.

Your breasts may produce milk. Your hormones may fluctuate. Your body may still look or feel pregnant. You may experience physical reminders of a journey that ended far too soon.

And in those moments, you may find yourself asking, โ€œWhy is my body still doing this?โ€

Sis, please hear this: Your body is not betraying you. ๐ŸคŽ

It is responding to a pregnancy, a birth, a loss, and a healing process that cannot always be rushed or controlled.

You are allowed to feel frustrated. You are allowed to grieve the changes. And you are allowed to need help navigating what happens next.

๐ŸŒป Give yourself grace.
๐ŸŒป Ask questions without shame.
๐ŸŒป Seek medical support when something doesnโ€™t feel right.
๐ŸŒป Remember that healing is not a race.

Your body deserves tenderness, too.

๐ŸคŽ Day 13: THE EXHAUSTION NOBODY SEES.

Have you ever been so tired that even explaining how tired you are feels exhausting?

After pregnancy or infant loss, exhaustion can reach beyond your physical body. You may be healing physically, adjusting to hormonal changes, struggling to sleep, carrying grief, and trying to navigate a world that keeps moving when yours feels like it has stopped.

And sometimes, people see you getting dressed, going to work, caring for your other children, or showing up for everyone elseโ€”and assume youโ€™re okay.

But functioning doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re not hurting.

You may need more rest than usual. You may have trouble concentrating. You may feel emotionally drained by things that once felt simple.

Sis, you do not have to earn your rest by reaching a breaking point. ๐ŸคŽ

๐ŸŒป Give yourself permission to slow down.
๐ŸŒป Accept help when itโ€™s offered.
๐ŸŒป Let someone know when youโ€™re struggling.
๐ŸŒป And please, donโ€™t dismiss persistent or overwhelming fatigue. Your physical health deserves care, too.

You are not lazy. You are not weak. You are navigating something heavy.

Your baby mattered. Your grief matters. And you matter, too.

๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸคŽ **TODAY, WE REMEMBER. TODAY, WE HONOR. TODAY, WE BREAK THE SILENCE.**

October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Today, we hold space for every family whose story includes a baby gone too soon.

To the parents who left the hospital with empty arms.
To the families who never got to bring their babies home.
To the parents whose losses happened early in pregnancy.
To the parents grieving stillbirth or infant loss.
To the siblings, grandparents, and loved ones who carry this grief, too.

**Your baby mattered. Your babyโ€™s life matters. And your love has a place in this world.** ๐ŸคŽ

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ **JOIN THE WAVE OF LIGHT TONIGHT**

At **7:00 p.m. in your local time zone**, light a candle and let it shine for one hour.

As each time zone reaches 7 p.m., candles will glow around the world in remembrance of babies gone too soon. Whether you light a candle, sit quietly, say your baby's name, or simply hold a memory close, there is room for you.

You do not have to explain your grief to participate. You do not have to be okay. You are welcome exactly as you are.

From all of us at **Too Precious for This World**, we remember your babies, honor your stories, and stand with families navigating life after loss.

๐Ÿฆ‹ A light for every baby. A light for every family. A reminder that no one should have to grieve alone.

**Tonight at 7 p.m. Let's light the world together.** ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐ŸคŽ

๐Ÿฆ‹ Day 12 โ€” โ€œYour Body May Not Feel Like Yours.โ€
Have you ever looked at your body and felt like you were looking at someone you no longer recognized? ๐ŸคŽ
After pregnancy and infant loss, your body may look different, feel different, or carry reminders of a journey that ended far too soon.
You may feel disconnected from it. You may feel frustrated with it. You may even struggle to show it the same kindness you once did.
Please hear this: Your body is not your enemy.
It has been through something significant, and you deserve time, patience, and compassionate care as you heal.
๐ŸŒป You don't have to love every change today.
๐ŸŒป You don't have to rush your healing.
๐ŸŒป You deserve kindness from yourself and others.

๐ŸคŽ Wednesday โ€” Day 11: Hormones Can Make Grief Feel Even Heavier
Sis, sometimes it's not just grief. It's grief while your body is trying to find its balance again. ๐ŸคŽ

After pregnancy loss, hormonal changes can affect your mood, sleep, energy, and emotions. You may feel exhausted, anxious, irritable, or overwhelmed.

And sometimes, the smallest thing can bring the biggest wave of emotion.

Please remember:
๐ŸŒป You are not weak for struggling.
๐ŸŒป You don't have to explain every emotion.
๐ŸŒป You deserve support while your body and heart heal.

Partners and loved ones, please remember that grief and physical recovery can happen together. Your patience, presence, and willingness to listen matter.

If emotional symptoms feel severe, persist, or interfere with daily life, reach out to a healthcare professional. You deserve care, too.

๐Ÿฆ‹ Tuesday โ€” Day 10: Suppressing Lactation
**Your body is doing the work of healing, even when your heart is still grieving.** ๐ŸคŽ

After pregnancy loss, your uterus begins returning to its pre-pregnancy size. You may experience cramping, bleeding, and other physical changes as your body recovers.

Recovery looks different for everyone. The type of loss, how far along the pregnancy was, and your individual circumstances can affect your healing timeline.

Give yourself permission to rest. Follow your healthcare provider's instructions, ask questions, and don't ignore symptoms that concern you.

Seek medical attention for heavy bleeding, severe pain, fever, dizziness, or feeling very unwell.

**You do not have to rush your body to heal on anyone else's timeline.**

๐Ÿฆ‹ **The Body Remembers โ€” Day 9 of 31**

Your body is healing.
Your experience matters.
You are not alone. ๐ŸŒป
