Incorporate Cheat Lake West Virginia

As a follow-up to the previous post I'd like to address the proposed upgrades to the Cheat Lake water treatment facility. The proposed project was to include an upgrade to the White's Run lift station which is located near Cheat Lake Elementary School. The first cut was the upgrade to this system. Nearby, a new development is under construction which will add 70 new homes and 55 new townhouses to the already stressed system. Was this growth taken into consideration when the cuts were made? If Cheat Lake was incorporated we could address not only zoning and area management, but could have a voice in how these types of proposed projects are completed.

This page was created so that the residents of Cheat Lake could generate conversations and momentum towards incorporating our community. Incorporation would give us the ability to control how our community is developed and managed. According to the website, West Virginia Demographics, Cheat Lake had roughly 10,000 residents making us the 16th largest municipality in WV. We are only several hundred people from moving up to the 13th largest and argue that we will reach that milestone within several years.
