💔 Our hearts break for the Gentry family.

Please join us in showing community, kindness, and support to the family as they grieve and heal after the loss of their matriarch and the critical injuries to a 14 year old son/brother after a tragic crash.

🇺🇸 Help the Gentry Family Recover After a Devastating Accident

On Sunday, November 3rd, a mother and son were driving in Polk County. Suddenly, there was a crash.
Mother was pronounced dead on scene and son was airlifted in critical condition to a nearby hospital.

Now, the Gentry family are facing the challenges of grieving their matriarch while caring for their son/ brother while he battles to stay alive. The Gentry family faces unimaginable medical bills, funeral bills, and healing going forward, and we’re humbly asking our community to join us in supporting their difficult journey ahead.

All proceeds donated will go directly to the family via the Lipford Foundation in which members of the Gentry family have been instrumental in helping to plan events and grow support. Our friends at the The Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP) shared a beautiful tribute to Smyth County Sheriff's Office's own Deputy Sheriff Hunter Reedy. We're so honored to have supported in the memorial dedication of Hunter's name on the wall at Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy.

Deputy Sheriff Hunter Reedy was shot and killed while assisting officers from the Marion Police Department with a traffic stop at about 5:00 pm.

The Lipford Foundation was created to honor the life of Deputy Sheriff Allen Lipford, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty in 1991 while protecting his community. Allen’s courage and dedication left a lasting impact on those who knew him, but his loss also left behind a heartbroken family and friends. In 2021, Allen’s partner, Mark Hutchinson, founded the Lipford Foundation as a way to preserve Allen’s legacy and extend a compassionate hand to other emergency responders and their families facing loss, injury, or hardship.
