Chief Petty Officer Darren Pointer, from Chattanooga, is promoted to chief petty officer during a pinning ceremony at Naval Station Mayport. Officer Pointer is a Howard High School graduate currently serving as an operations specialist with Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Two.
