Thank you, Chatham Jaycees!

Troop 280 is grateful for the Jaycees’ generous donation in support of our high-adventure program. This contribution will help provide Scouts with opportunities for backpacking, wilderness treks, and other experiences that build leadership, confidence, and teamwork. (Photos from this weekend’s shakedown trek for our 2027 Philmont trek).

It was an honor for Troop 280 to attend the June 4th Distinguished Service Award ceremony and witness the tremendous impact the Jaycees have on Chatham through their dedication to service, volunteerism, and community spirit.

Troop 280 is especially appreciative that this donation was made possible through the Jaycees’ annual Christmas Tree Sale at Main St/Brooklake Rd, this weekend’s Fishawack Run, and other community fundraising efforts. The Jaycees’ commitment to supporting local youth organizations continues to make a meaningful impact throughout our community. Thank you to everyone who supports their fundraising efforts and makes donations like this possible!

Our happy, healthy way to kick off your 2026 - join us for the 6th Annual First Day Walk - New Year's Day through Loantaka Reservation and Giralda Farms Preserve!

Your $10 supports local conservation projects and you receive a gorgeous pin. Buy your ticket in advance to reserve a pin below and come any time between 11am and 3pm to pick it up and be directed on your walk by the amazing girls of Troop 280!

Pets welcome! The 2.5 mile walk starts & finishes at the Loantaka Reservation parking lot on Loantaka Way (close to 195 Loantaka Way, Madison, NJ).

Troop 280 experienced the ultimate Philmont experience by horseback, participating in a Cavalcade trek. Thanks to our friends in the Jersey Shore Council for sharing this opportunity with Troop 280! The troops seamlessly worked together.
