🔬 Harald Sontheimer, PhD, and his team discovered why Alzheimer’s patients lose the ability to recognize friends and loved ones, a finding that could open the door to new treatments.

Artist’s Statement:
“The African Hut” is a vivid tribute to my heritage—a place where simplicity meets the essence of life. In many parts of my homeland, families still dwell in traditional huts, embodying a lifestyle rooted in connection, shelter, and peace. This painting reflects that truth: the hut as a symbol of home, much like our own bodies. Flowing through it is a bold stroke of green—life in motion, ever-present like a river within us. Amidst the surrounding darkness, the hut glows with warmth and heart. It is grounded, alive, and unwavering.
