VHSL Film Festival

VHSL Film Festival Accepting narratives, documentaries, animations, experimentals and commercial/PSAs. The 4th Annual VHSL Film Festival to take place June 1-2, 2018.

VHSL Film Festival encourages participation, supports filmmaking education, and recognizes student achievement in film as an academic program. The League believes that film is both an art form and communication tool that encourages creativity in individuals and crews, and sharpens students’ knowledge of conceptualizing, researching, writing, casting, directing, acting, cinematography, and editing.

VHSL Film Festival supports the Virginia Department of Education’s CTE curriculum in Television and Media Production, which prepares students for careers in various technology and communications fields including film editing, audio/video engineering, and cinematography; and the International Baccalaureate’s Film curriculum, which aims to develop students’ skills so that they become adept in both interpreting and making film texts while fostering creativity, researching and formulating ideas eloquently, and exploring the limitless possibilities of human expression through the art of filmmaking.
