Native Heart Homeschool Community Center

Native Heart Homeschool Community Center Native Heart Homeschool Community Center is a space for local homeschoolers ages 6-18, to come together for socialization and learning.

Please visit our ABOUT page under Privacy and Legal Info for more detailed information. Native Heart offers Drop Off optional extracurricular group classes with a hands-on interactive focus. Classes include S.T.E.M., Art, Creative Writing and Storytelling, Nature Studies, Culinary, Physical Education and more. All classes are inclusive no matter religion, race, or sexual orientation. Class instruc

tion is provided by certified teachers and/or local homeschool parents. Classes meet twice a week, with a set class schedule for each day. This means that your child(ren) will participate in each class type offered that day, rather than signing up for specific classes. Classes are broken out into grade levels, rather than age groups, so that each child will have the best fit possible. Classes meet from 10AM-2PM with drop off at 9:45AM and pick up before 2:15PM. Our goal is to keep tuition affordable for everyone. A full semester tuition for two class days is $500 per child. If two days a week is more than your schedule can handle, you can sign your child(ren) up for a single day per week. A full semester tuition for one class day per week is $300. Significant discounts are offered for teaching positions. While we do not offer classes or supervision for children under 6. However, we do have a room that is dedicated to the little ones, so that parents can have a space to rest with their young children while the older siblings are in class. TUESDAY CLASSES

Our Spring Semester is off to a great start! Students are enjoying working in their garden in Nature Studies class and putting some of their hard work to use in Culinary Arts. In Creative Writing class, the students are creating their own Podcast from topics they selected. In Art this semester students are learning how to create Lino Cuts to make print designs for t-shirts. US Geography has the students working on map skills and presenting on the state of their choice. This semester’s Reading Comprehension class focuses on reading skills through plays and skits. Culinary Arts is all about kid’s choice this semester, with yummy creations of Mochi, Boba Tea, Enchiladas, and more. In Physical Education class the students are playing team sports like Soccer, Baseball, and Kickball. In STEM class the students are working on Architecture, Challenges, and Art though Mathematics.

There is so much going on at our amazing little co-op. Our new Yearbook Committee is creating our very first Native Heart Yearbook! We have adopted Oakhurst Nursing Home in Fork Union, where the students will be giving back to their community all year long. We are planning a large Makers Market where homeschoolers can create and sell their goods, and we are working on a Science Fair in the Winter Semester. We are coming up on our 5th month of our all-ages Book Club for the Fluvanna, Scottsville, Charlottesville, and surrounding areas. Reach out to join the activities or try out a day at Native Heart!

We only have a few spots left for Spring Semester. Feel free to reach out if you would like to try out a day!
