đź’ś Purple Heart Day

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who were wounded or gave their lives in service to our country.

The Purple Heart represents sacrifice, courage, and resilience. It reminds us that freedom has always come at a cost—one carried not only by those who wore the uniform, but by the families who stood beside them.

Today, we remember those sacrifices with gratitude and commit ourselves to supporting those who continue to live with the visible and invisible wounds of war.

If you know a Purple Heart recipient, take a moment to thank them, listen to their story, or simply let them know they are remembered.

From all of us at Veterans Collaborative, thank you for your service and sacrifice. đź’ś

Happy 236th Birthday to the United States Coast Guard!

Today we celebrate the courageous men and women of the United States Coast Guard, whose service has safeguarded our Nation since August 4, 1790.

Whether conducting search and rescue missions, protecting our waterways, securing our ports, responding to natural disasters, or defending our homeland, Coast Guardsmen embody the service's motto: Semper Paratus — Always Ready.

Thank you to every active duty member, Reservist, civilian, Auxiliarist, Veteran, and Coast Guard family for your dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to serving others.

Happy Birthday, Coast Guard, and thank you for 236 years of faithful service to our Nation!

Today, we honor the enduring legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers.

Established by Congress on July 28, 1866, the Buffalo Soldiers served with courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment during a pivotal chapter in our Nation's history. Despite facing discrimination and hardship, they earned a reputation for excellence and helped shape the United States Army through their service on the frontier, in national parks, and in conflicts around the world.

Their legacy is one of resilience, leadership, and sacrifice—values that continue to inspire generations of service members and Veterans.

Today, we remember their contributions, honor their service, and celebrate the lasting impact they have had on our Nation.

Today, we honor the men and women who served during the Korean War.

Often called "The Forgotten War," the sacrifices of Korean War Veterans should never be forgotten.

Between 1950 and 1953, nearly 1.8 million Americans answered the call to defend freedom on the Korean Peninsula. More than 36,000 Americans gave their lives, and over 103,000 were wounded. Their courage, resilience, and commitment helped preserve the independence of the Republic of Korea and shaped generations that followed.

As we commemorate National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, we remember not only those who made the ultimate sacrifice but also the Veterans who returned home carrying stories of courage, sacrifice, and service that continue to inspire us today.

As our Nation marks 250 years of freedom, we remember that every generation has answered the call to defend it. The legacy of the Korean War generation lives on in the freedoms we enjoy today and in the men and women who continue to serve our country.

To every Korean War Veteran and your families—thank you. Your service, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

Did You Know?

Today marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), signed into law on July 26, 1990. The ADA is a landmark civil rights law that protects people with disabilities from discrimination and helps ensure equal access to employment, transportation, public services, and public accommodations.

For many Veterans, these protections are deeply personal.

Did you know that nearly one in three Veterans has a service-connected disability through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs? These disabilities may be visible or invisible, including hearing loss, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and other service-related conditions.

The ADA reminds us that accessibility isn't just about ramps and parking spaces—it's about creating communities where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, succeed, and belong.

At Veterans Collaborative, we're committed to increasing local access to resources and expanding opportunity for Veterans, service members, and military families—because every Veteran deserves the chance to thrive.

Today is National Hire a Veteran Day.

Veterans bring more than experience to the workplace. They bring leadership, adaptability, integrity, teamwork, and a mission-focused mindset developed through years of service.

Hiring a Veteran isn't simply about filling a position—it's about investing in individuals who know how to solve problems, lead under pressure, and contribute to strong, resilient organizations.

To employers across our communities: consider the talent that Veterans have to offer. Your next great leader may already be ready to serve in a new way.

Together, we can create more opportunities for those who have served our Nation.

America is hope.

It is compassion.

It is excellence.

It is valor.

These values aren't found only in history books—they're alive in our communities every day.

We see them in the Veteran who continues serving after taking off the uniform. In the volunteer who gives their time expecting nothing in return. In the nonprofit leader working late to help a family in need. In the neighbor who reaches out with a meal, a phone call, or a helping hand.

America has never been defined by one person. It has always been shaped by millions of ordinary people choosing to do extraordinary things for one another.

As we celebrate 250 years of our Nation, let's continue building communities where hope is shared, compassion is lived, excellence is pursued, and valor is honored.

That's the America we believe in.

🚀 Project Spotlight: BUZZ

On National Moon Day, we're proud to shine a spotlight on one of the incredible projects within the Veterans Collaborative Fiscal Sponsorship Program.

BUZZ is an inspiring feature documentary directed by Veteran filmmaker Sean Mullin that tells the remarkable life story of astronaut Buzz Aldrin—a pioneer of space exploration whose courage, determination, and service helped shape one of humanity's greatest achievements.

Currently in production and expected to be released in 2026, the film offers an intimate look at the man behind the historic Moon landing and the extraordinary legacy he continues to leave behind.

Sean Mullin is also the acclaimed director of Brothers on Three and It Ain't Over, bringing his signature storytelling to one of America's most iconic figures.

We're honored to support projects like BUZZ that preserve history, celebrate service, and inspire future generations to dream beyond the horizon.

We are honored to support and fiscally sponsor the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Memorial Foundation and the Xiarhos family. Their commitment reminds us that remembrance is more than a ceremony—it's a lifelong commitment to caring for those who continue to serve and those who have borne the cost of freedom.

Thank you to the entire the Xiarhos family and everyone who made yesterday's ride a powerful tribute to Cpl. Nicholas G. Xiarhos and all of our nation's fallen heroes.

We will remember. We will honor. We will continue to serve.
