Behind every fallen service member is a family carrying their love, memory, and legacy forward. Their sacrifice did not end when their loved one came home for the final time.

VETERANS COLLABORATIVE IS HEADED TO TAMPA for the Military Influencer Conference.

There is so much we want to talk about—VC RADAR, Mission Forward, Heads Up Vet, brain health, and the Veteran Resource Passport.

But this week, we are especially focused on nonprofit entrepreneurship.

Veterans and military-connected leaders are building solutions for needs they understand firsthand. We help them put the structure, resources, and support behind those ideas so they can grow and continue serving their communities.

Today, we ask you to pause with us.

At 8:46 a.m. Eastern Time, we will observe a moment of silence for the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93.

We honor the first responders who ran toward danger, the service members who answered our nation’s call, and the families and communities forever changed by that day.

Congress designated September 11 as Patriot Day in December 2001. In 2009, it also became a National Day of Service and Remembrance—a call to honor those we lost by helping others and strengthening our communities.

Today, 25 years later, flags are flown at half-staff, and Americans are asked to pause for a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Time, when the first plane struck the World Trade Center.

We will never forget.

Know the Signs. Make the Connection.

Su***de prevention belongs to all of us—and knowing when someone may need support matters.

Changes in mood or behavior. Withdrawing from friends and family. Increased substance use. Feeling hopeless, trapped, or like a burden. Talking about death or having no reason to live.

Sometimes the signs are obvious. Sometimes they aren’t.

If something feels different, check in.

Ask: “How are you really doing?”

Listen without judgment. Stay connected. Help them find support.

Getting from 17 to Zero starts with noticing, asking, and being there.
