An Evening of Hope means so much to us for a lot of reasons.

Yes, it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year, and the support raised that night helps make so much of what we do possible.

But it’s also one of the few times we get to bring so many people from our Reclaimed Hope community together in one place. Families, friends, supporters, sponsors, and people who believe in this work all get to share a night, hear each other’s stories, and be reminded of why this community matters so much.

That’s what makes An Evening of Hope feel so special to us.

Friday night Thrive looked a little different this time, and we loved it. 💙

We got together from 5–7 PM for our first Thrive at Charlottesville Friends Meeting, and we had a full group join us for the evening!

Trying a weekday evening gave us a chance to see what might work better for some of our families, and we loved seeing so many people able to make it. We’re already talking about doing more evening Thrives like this!

So grateful for everyone who came out and made our first night in this new space such a good one. 💙

What makes An Evening of Hope so special goes far beyond one night. 💛

It’s a chance to come together as a community while supporting the programs families rely on throughout the year, from Thrive and Parents’ Night Out to caregiving that helps parents keep working and kids get the support they need.

That’s what this night makes possible, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

An Evening of Hope has always been about the families at the heart of Reclaimed Hope.

This year, three of those families will share their stories with us, including the love, challenges, resilience, and community that have been part of their journeys.

We’ll hear from Suzy Cincinnati and her three children, Olivia Gough and her two daughters, and Ginny and Oliver Ulsaker and their two boys about their experiences raising children with disabilities and what it has meant to find people who understand and walk alongside them.

And there’s another really special piece to their stories this year! Each family has been paired with an artist - Britt Davis, Gabrielle Colburn, and Olivia Pincombe - who will create an original piece of art inspired by their family. The finished pieces will be revealed and auctioned during our live auction that evening.

We’re so grateful to these families for being willing to share a piece of their lives with us, and we hope you’ll be there to hear their stories in their own words.

Our first Parents’ Night Out of the season was a BIG one! 💛

We headed over the mountain for our very first PNO in Waynesboro at Blue Ridge Children’s Museum, and these photos pretty much say it all. There was plenty of playing, creating, exploring, laughing, and time together while parents got a few hours to themselves.

And dinner deserves its own shoutout! Laila Hart volunteered to prepare cheese lasagna, veggies, gluten-free cupcakes, and even a separate pan of gluten-free baked ziti so one of our kiddos had a meal made just for them. That kind of thoughtfulness means so much to us.

We’d love to have more families help provide meals for upcoming Parents’ Night Out and Thrive gatherings.

We had the chance to attend the Cav Futures Foundation’s Champions of the Community celebration alongside student-athletes, donors, community partners, and so many local nonprofits doing incredible work throughout our area.

This year, 22 nonprofits received a combined $200,000 in grants, including Reclaimed Hope.

Of course, the support means so much to us, but getting to spend the evening connecting with other organizations and hearing more about the work happening across our community made it even more special.

Thank you to the Cav Futures Foundation for including us. We left feeling really encouraged by the people in that room and grateful to be part of this community. 💛
