For immediate release:

Family Crisis Council of Rowan is excited to announce Spencer Dixon as its new Executive Director as the agency continues to create pathways to hope, healing, and empowerment for survivors of domestic violence sexual assault, and human trafficking in Rowan County.
Spencer Dixon is a native of Salisbury, NC. He graduated high school from Salisbury High before receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Hampden-Sydney College, majoring in English with a Rhetoric Minor. Spencer is a familiar face around Family Crisis Council. From 2018-2024, Spencer worked for Family Crisis Council of Rowan specializing in grant research, writing, post-award management and reporting as well as overseeing program implementation and compliance. “I’m excited to be back with Family Crisis Council,” says Mr. Dixon. “Family Crisis Council’s life saving services are an essential resource in Rowan County, and It’s an honor to be able to lead the agency into the future.”
From 2024 until now, Mr. Dixon has been Executive Director of Rowan Arts Council where he oversaw implementation of their new annual “Meet the Artist” Festival, strengthened partnerships, and expanded their programming. “I’ve enjoyed my time at Rowan Arts Council, but my heart is still with serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. We accomplished a lot, and it feels like the right time to step away,” says Mr. Dixon.
Mr. Dixon will start full-time at Family Crisis Council of Rowan on September 23rd where he will manage the day-to-day operations of the organization, which would include the oversight of the staff, fundraising, strategic planning and grant writing.
Family Crisis Council of Rowan is a 501c3 nonprofit that serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through a wide array of services including emergency shelter, case management, court advocacy, crisis line, hospital response, and more.
