This month, we are spotlighting two amazing members of the Charlotte disc golf community - Bobcat Buckley and James Meehan! These two gentlemen go above and beyond for the Charlotte community, each in their own way.

For years, Bobcat has done a lot of work with the Disc Golf Pro Tour in our city, among other things. This month, we specifically want to shout out everything that Bobcat did for the Queen City Classic. He recruited volunteers, coordinated details, and so much more. “Not sure what the DGPT or Charlotte would do without him,” says nominator, Ethan Durland.

James, as the course director of Renaissance Park, puts a lot of work into maintaining three separate course layouts. “He also leads and meticulously organizes the ‘Renny Renovators,’” says nominator, Lowe Bibby. During the off-season, James and his team of volunteers put in weeks of workdays to maintain the courses.

We also have Bobcat and James to thank for working tirelessly together to get Hornet’s Nest into great shape for the DGPT’s Queen City Classic. On behalf of the city, thank you both for everything you do!
