FAQs:
What is a swap?
The idea of a swap is that you give what you don't need and take what you do. Simple as that! However, you do not need to bring anything in order to take something. Feel free to come "shop the swap" even if you don't have anything to donate. We tend to get way more donations than we can give away!
Why are you doing this?
Melissa is a humanitarian whose goal is to help her community without lining the pockets of corporations. Rae is an environmentalist with an aim to reduce consumption and keep usable goods out of landfills. We're combining forces to achieve both goals; help people, help the planet!
Who is this for?
Everybody! Do you, or does somebody you know, wear clothing? Then this event is for you, no matter your age, size, gender, race, or tax bracket! (Disclaimer: since we rely exclusively on donations, we cannot guarantee we will have every size or style of clothing available, but we aim for inclusivity and all are welcome.)
Is this event LGBTQIA+ friendly?
Yes! Every member of our community is welcome here.
Is this event wheelchair accessible?
Yes! Rae's wife is a wheelchair user, so we understand how difficult it can be to find places that are accessible. Even if we change venues, accessibility will always be a non-negotiable requirement.
How can I help?
We are currently looking for an indoor venue to host swaps that is free or at least very affordable. If you have an idea, let us know!
We are also looking for a place to store items in between swaps, as we both have limited space in our homes.
You can also donate clothing of course! Keep an eye on this page for swap dates and donation times/locations.
Other donations we're looking for:
Tote bins
Clothing racks
Hangers
Folding tables
