We’re looking for a Director of Level 2 Partnerships to help strengthen the relationships and matchmaking process that moves our work forward across Charlotte.

At Impact Partners, Level 2 is the stage where relationships become collaborative matches. This role will help cultivate those relationships and identify where the right people, organizations, and resources can meet the needs of leaders and communities within our city.

Nonprofit leaders spend so much time pouring into others, but when do they have the opportunity to pause and invest in themselves?

Investing in someone’s potential begins with recognizing the gifts they already possess.

At yesterday’s HOPE International Investing in Dreams Breakfast, we explored two approaches to fostering impact, coined by William Easterly:

The planner identifies a problem and develops a plan to address it.

The searcher starts small, listens to local needs, and seeks collaborators to solve problems.

Planning provides vision and direction, while searching keeps solutions grounded in the community.

A key point Peter Greer, CEO of HOPE International, shared:

“God has already given gifts and capabilities to everyone—it’s about finding people and investing in them.”

At Impact Partners, we believe nonprofit leaders already possess valuable gifts, experience, and vision. We listen, build relationships, and match them with the people and resources that can help their work grow.

What happens when someone sees a future in us that we can’t yet see for ourselves?

I recently attended the official launch of , a nonprofit organization empowering young ladies of color, primarily ages 13-25, to heal, rise, and lead. Founded by Shericka Usher.

The evening highlighted an important truth: A young woman facing limited exposure and hardships beyond her control is usually not thinking about leadership or entrepreneurship—she is simply trying to survive.

A student mentored by Shericka shared:

“When you invest in Ushering Hope, you invest in human potential. You help young women go from surviving to imagining.”

Additionally, Keynote speaker Dr. Akosua Lesesne shared a powerful perspective:

“Statistics don’t predict the future. Statistics tell us what has happened, and what could happen if there is no intervention.”

This is why early investment and meaningful relationships matter. When we invest in a young woman, we don’t change only one life—we help shape the many lives she will go on to impact.

Congratulations to Shericka Usher on the official launch of ! Her commitment to changing the narrative through mentorship, support, and opportunity is deeply inspiring. I’m grateful to have witnessed the vision behind this work and the community coming together to support it.

Last week, I had the chance to attend the Fall Kickoff as the Level 1 Coordinator for Impact Partners!

I loved connecting with women who are using their leadership, generosity, and influence to strengthen communities across Charlotte. Everyone I spoke with was so warm and welcoming, including Larissa Mañon with and Beverley Francis-Gibson with

It was inspiring to see leaders from different sectors come together to connect, collaborate, encourage one another, and celebrate the incredible work happening across our city.

I also appreciated the opportunity to listen and better understand how these women are investing in our community. I left with a greater appreciation for the work they’re doing and have been thinking about more ways I can serve, help build others up, and contribute to bringing restoration to those in need across our city.

That’s the focus of Charlotte Next, a 12-month leadership program investing in the next generation of nonprofit executives in Charlotte.

The program supports leaders’ development through three pillars:

Self: Lead out of their personal calling.
Team: Manage people and challenges with wisdom.
Community: Build partnerships for future impact.

Charlotte Next equips leaders for where they are today—and the impact they’re preparing to make tomorrow.
