💙 Community Partner Spotlight | The People Behind the Mission: Mercy Church

As we celebrate 10 years of Families Forward Charlotte, we’re so excited to highlight the people and partners who have been part of our journey along the way!

Mercy Church has been such a meaningful part of our FFC community. From sharing our Family Liaison opportunity and having church members actively serve as mentors, to supporting us through funding, joining us at our Hearts for Hope fundraiser, and helping with holiday operations, they continue to find ways to show up for the families we serve.

What makes this partnership so special is their continued willingness to stay connected, get involved, and support our mission in so many different ways. We’re incredibly grateful for the Mercy Church community and all the ways they’ve helped make our work possible over the years!

Thank you for being part of our story and helping us make a difference in the lives of Charlotte families. 💙

💙 Come connect with Families Forward Charlotte at CLTivate Community 2026!

We’re excited to be part of CLTivate Community 2026, a free, one-stop opportunity to explore dozens of local nonprofits, learn about the work happening across Charlotte, and connect with the people helping make a difference in our community.

Families Forward Charlotte will be there with a table, sharing more about our mission, the families we serve, and the impact our community partners and volunteers make every day.

✨ Fall 2026 Graduation! ✨

We’re celebrating 8 moms who reached an important milestone in their journey with the Family Success Program! 🎓💙 We’re so proud of the hard work they’ve put in and the goals they’ve accomplished along the way. This milestone reflects the progress they’ve made throughout their time in the program.

They’re now part of our Alumni Network, where they can stay connected and continue to be part of the FFC community. Congratulations to our Fall 2026 graduates! We’re so excited to see what’s ahead. 💙

There are two ways you can help support Families Forward Charlotte families this fall. 💙

🥫 Help stock our Food Pantry - Our Food Pantry provides everyday essentials to families when they need a little extra support. Keeping our pantry stocked helps families stretch their budgets and frees up money for other needs.

🦃 Help us fill Thanksgiving boxes - We’re collecting items to help Family Partners put a Thanksgiving meal on the table and ease some of the added financial pressure that can come with the holidays. Every donation helps make Thanksgiving a little more special.

📊 FY2025–26 IMPACT SNAPSHOT

October’s Number of the Month is 32! 🔢

32 New Family Liaison mentors trained. These volunteers stepped up to walk alongside a Family Partner as they work toward their goals. Each Family Liaison spent an average of 6 hours per month with their Family Partner.

That time matters. It gives more families someone in their corner who can listen and offer encouragement. It also creates a consistent connection as families work toward greater stability.

32 new mentors. Hundreds of hours spent walking alongside families. A lasting impact that reaches far beyond the match. 💙

🍂 This fall, we’re creating more opportunities for Family Partners to learn and connect. Our recent workshops have focused on topics that support families in different areas of life:

✨ Making Budgets Work with pncbank
Families explored practical ways to create a budget and plan ahead.

✨ Managing Postpartum and Seasonal Depression with Behind the Smile
Families learned more about mental health and strategies for navigating postpartum and seasonal depression.

✨ Debt Management with pncbank
Families built a better understanding of debt and explored ways to manage it.

✨ Healthy Living with Ana Maria Temple MD | Holistic Pediatrician
Families explored ways to support their health and well-being.

✨ Mental Health Wellness Roundtable with Julie Hutton
Families joined life and career coach Julie Hutton for a focus group that helped shape our new mental health programming.

And we’re taking that conversation into October. 💙 Starting next month, every workshop will offer an optional Safe Space Circle (called The Village) where Family Partners can connect with one another and share support. We’re building a stronger FFC village of support, one conversation at a time. 💙

✨September Weekend Food Pack Recap!

A huge thank you to Davco Roofing and Sheet Metal, Eaton Corporation, and Good Friends Charlotte for sponsoring and packing a combined 420 food bags this September!

Through their generosity and hands-on support, these groups are helping ensure children in our community have access to food over the weekends when school meals aren’t available. Each bag makes a difference, and we’re so grateful for the time and care these volunteers put into supporting local families!

💙 Community Partner Spotlight | The People Behind the Mission: Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council

As we celebrate 10 years of Families Forward Charlotte, we’re recognizing the people and partners who have made a lasting impact on our journey.

The Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council, have helped us make birthdays extra special for the youth in our Family Success Program. Through their dedicated volunteers and birthday bags, they help ensure every child feels seen, celebrated, and valued on their special day.

It’s partnerships like these that remind us how small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference. We’re so grateful to the Girl Scouts, Hornets' Nest for being part of our story and helping us create meaningful moments for the families we serve! 💙

September brought progress as our Family Partners worked toward goals that matter to them.

🏠 Mariah is working toward housing stability.
🎓 Jysia is taking the next step in her education by going back to school.
💚 Eleisha is focusing on her health and well-being.
💼 Tammy is working toward stable employment and greater financial stability.

Every goal looks different. Each step forward matters. We’re proud to walk alongside our Family Partners as they work toward greater stability and the future they envision for their families. 💙
