For our first scholarship feature, we are excited to spotlight Zephyr Campbell!

At a young age, Zephyr was given the opportunity to connect with her Japanese family and culture. At first, she was nervous to leave the comfort and security of her mom, especially as she faced a language barrier, cultural differences, and the uncertainty of traveling to a country so far from home. But once she arrived, those fears quickly faded. She found the people to be kind, supportive, and welcoming.

Since then, Zephyr has felt a strong desire to continue building her relationship with Japan. She hopes to enroll in an exchange program, or even live there permanently, so she can experience as much of the culture, language, and community as possible.

If Zephyr had not asked herself, “Why not” step onto this plane? “Why not” take the opportunity to experience something new? “Why not” face my insecurities? she may never have discovered the passion that has helped shape who she is today and who she hopes to become.

The winners have been chosen! Stay tuned to hear more about the Ardrey Kell High School students who have won the first annual Why Not CP Scholarship. We had so many great applicants that it was hard to choose but these 5 had stories that we all agreed represent the foundation perfectly!

We will feature each of these winners in the coming weeks with a brief summary of their why not story and how they are planning to use the scholarship!

Why not Wednesday! An awesome new story was submitted to the website this week from Ashley Durbin. She jumped into a 70.3 Half Ironman relay as the anchor to the race. She saw a request that a runner was needed by a couple hopefuls in a page so Ashley stepped in and said “Why Not?” I’m already here cheering on my husband! Now she has some new friends and a race medal out of it! Great Work Ashley!

Highlight of the week is this cool kid makings great hit in his baseball game and dedicated it to Carson! He is repping his why not sticker well out on the field! Let’s goooo Griffin! This kid loves to share why not stories with all of his friends and has even inspired some to share their own stories. Keep it up!!

I challenge each of you to complete a why not accomplishment before the weekend is up. I had a why not day yesterday with my business coaching group. Take that chance, meet that person, take the left turn instead of right, be curious and explore a slightly different way. You might just learn something.

Today Carson would have been 26 years old. He accomplished so much in 24 years by living life with a why not attitude. He would be so proud to know that people are continuing that attitude and striving to live their why not. Make an effort in 2026 to step outside your comfort zone and turn what if’s into remember when’s.

Merry Christmas everyone! Are there any why not stories happening yhis holiday season?

For us we all went to a new church here in Ohio and are spending quality time with a family all together. It’s nice to slow down and enjoy the time together❤️

Exciting News from the Foundation!!

We are pleased to announce that we are officially a foundation and are now accepting donations! To kick-off this great feat we wanted to have a gathering for anyone in or near the Charlotte area around Thanksgiving. We recently installed a bench around the lake at McAlpine Creek Park, dedicated to Carsons memory. We would like to introduce the foundation with the announcement of this bench! Introducing this foundation where so many “why not?” stories started just seemed like the perfect place. The bench dedication will take place on 11/29 at 3:30pm; we will have a short prayer, tie ribbons to the bench, and take in all the nature around this new landmark.

For those of you who are not in town or have family to spend time with don’t worry! Keep a look out for fundraising opportunities and new merchandise that will soon be available!

If you are unable to attend and would still like to be a part of the event please send us your name and we will tie a ribbon to the bench for you.

Happy Why not Wednesday!

Today we just want to tell you a bit about our organization. Built in the inspiration of the life lived by our son, brother, grandson, and best friend Carson Philbin, we are striving to help you find your “why not?”. We want you to think about things you wish you had done, things you hope to accomplish, goals you hope to reach. We want you to make those dreams a reality. Turn your “why not?” moments into “remember when”.

We started this foundation to inspire everyone by seeing the stories of others fulfilling their dreams. Soon the foundation will be able to sponsor those dreams to make them a reality. We hope to have foundation sponsored events very soon so keep a lookout for those!

With your support through sharing stories, inspiring others, making donations, and making “remember when” moments, we hope to lead by Carson’s legacy and live our lives to the fullest, leaving behind no regrets. 💛
