Hygiene insecurity is becoming more and more visible in our classrooms, and with everything families are navigating right now, many simply cannot keep up.  When students don’t have access to basic hygiene, it can lead to bullying, embarrassment, discipline issues, and missed school days. As we reflect on the meaning of this day, we are reminded that freedom is not only something to celebrate; it is something we must continue to protect, expand, and pursue for everyone.

Bessie Coleman made history as the first Black woman and the first Native American to earn a pilot’s license.
💫 Denied flight training in the United States because of her race and gender, she refused to let discrimination ground her dreams. Instead, she traveled to France, where she earned her international pilot’s license—soaring past barriers that once stood in her way.
🔥 Known as “Queen Bess,” she went on to become a fearless aviator, inspiring generations to dream beyond limits and defy expectations.
