🗳️✨ It’s always a GREAT feeling getting students out to vote during Early Voting and on Election Day — especially alongside the amazing scholars at Johnson C. Smith University💙💛

There’s nothing more powerful than seeing young leaders step up, use their voices, and take ownership of their future. 🙌🏾 Every ballot cast is a step toward stronger communities and real representation.

And let’s be clear — the Primary Election is just as important as the general election. 🗓️ Decisions are made early. Leadership is shaped early. That’s why we show up early.

• 🗳️ Early Voting: Feb. 12 – Feb. 28, 2026
• 📅 Primary Election Day: Tuesday, March 3, 2026
• ⏰ Polls open 6:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• 🗓️ Last day to register to vote (mail or online): Feb. 6, 2026
• 📬 Absentee ballots begin mailing: Jan. 12, 2026
• 📮 Absentee ballot request deadline: Feb. 17, 2026
• 📬 Absentee ballots must be returned by 7:30 PM on March 3

📍 You can vote at any early voting site in your county during early voting, and same-day registration is available during early voting if you missed the registration deadline.

🫂 Charlotte Democracy Center Shows Up for Our Democracy 💥

This weekend, we were proud to stand in solidarity at the ICE Out for Good Nationwide Rally & March at First Ward Park. Our team was on the ground registering voters, educating community members, and having real conversations about what’s at stake in this election.

Voter engagement isn’t just about Election Day — it’s about meeting people where they are, answering questions, and reminding our communities that our voices still matter. In moments when voter apathy is real and trust in systems is challenged, education and access become acts of power.

🗳️ This election is important because our rights, our families, and our future are on the ballot.
📚 When voters are informed, they are empowered.
🤝 When communities organize together, change follows.

We’re grateful to partner with so many powerful organizations and leaders who believe in people-powered democracy. This is the work — and we’re just getting started.

🎄 This Christmas and New Years Season, Charlotte Democracy Center is focused on giving back to the same communities we serve year-round. I also had the opportunity to bring my daughter, Brande, with me as we helped distribute groceries 🛒—so she could see firsthand what the real meaning of the holidays looks like.

✨ For us, this season isn’t just about Christmas, but about honoring all holidays—Christmas, Hanukkah 🕎, Kwanzaa 🖤❤️💚, and the spirit of care and generosity that connects them all. It’s about service, love, and showing up for others when it matters most.

🤝 We were grateful to support and work alongside organizations like Roof Above 🏠 and The Salvation Army USA ❤️, helping ensure families and neighbors had what they needed during a time that can be joyful for some and difficult for others.

Teaching our children compassion, humility, and service is just as important as the work itself. Proud to serve, grateful to give, and committed to building a stronger Charlotte—together. ❤️
