Well the rivers look quite different this week after heavy rains. Lake Lure, Moss Lake, and the Broad River just below Lake Lure passed the criteria for safe swimming, all other river sites failed. Pictured are the First Broad in Lawndale and the Broad at Grays, Coxe, 221, and below Lake Lure. Y'all stay safe out there.

Swim Guide season is back, and Allie's smile says it all!
Water is looking good across the Broad River watershed, with all sites passing the state recommended safe swimming standard for bacteria. Every week between Memorial Day and Labor Day we enjoy getting out in the field to sample 11 popular swimming sites at Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, several along the Broad River and First Broad River, and Moss Lake. Check out the results on Thursdays .
Big thanks to Allie and other staff at
for helping collect water samples.
Summer is heating up, y'all enjoy the water!

Another great day with South Debri Crew. We cleared and cleaned the second half of the River Road to Grays Road section, 8 miles of gorgeous wilderness on the river. The water was low and slow and very clear. Be prepared for at least 4-5 hours on the water when you paddle this section.
