To those unhoused, know that some of us care about your housing sustainability without impending doom.
Believing all shelter workers and guests have sufficient essentials and safety.
We’ll have additional capacity at area homeless shelters, potential warming shelters, County service changes and facility closures with severe weather in the forecast: https://meck.co/49DtQVd
Street outreach teams are encouraging anyone living unsheltered to visit a shelter and will provide information on how to access one. Those declining shelter will be provided winter weather supplies, if needed.
Area homeless shelters will have additional capacity starting Saturday, Jan. 24 thru at least the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 27:
- Men: Roof Above (3410 Statesville Avenue) beginning at 12:30 p.m.
- Women and Families: The Salvation Army (534 Spratt Street) arrival between 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Be prepared and stay safe:
1. Monitor updates from the National Weather Service.
2. Use ice salts and de-icing products to keep walkways and driveways clear.
3. Prepare for potential power outages by setting up generators and charging all your devices and battery packs.
4. Ensure you have enough non-perishable food in case roads are unsafe.
5. Stay warm by dressing in layers.

When to call 911: For serious, unexpected, and dangerous situations requiring immediate action that may result in personal injury or property damage. Examples: medical emergency, downed power lines and downed tree blocking a road.
When to call 311: For information about public service impacts, clogged storm drains and downed trees not affecting public safety.
