Reel Out Charlotte Reel Out Charlotte is the Queen City's annual LGBTQ film festival and a program of Charlotte Pride.

Our film festival, formerly known as The GayCharlotte Film Festival, showcases the best in LGBTQ-themed short, documentary and feature-length films each year. Charlotte Pride is the leader in LGBTQ visibility in Charlotte and the Carolinas. Since its founding in 2000, Charlotte Pride has expanded its year-round programming and partnerships to better connect community members with its mission, visi

“Old Guys in Bed (2025) is a Canadian romantic comedy-drama, directed by Jean-Pierre Bergeron. The film was inspired by Bergeron’s own experience navigating online dating as an older gay man and his desire to share of older gay men’s often underrepresented stories. The film stars Duff MacDonald as Paul, a historian who has just turned 60 years old and enlists his tech-savvy teenage niece to help him pursue the 70-year-old man of his dreams online.”

"Submerged Q***r Spaces is a documentary feature that examines q***r history through an approach of urban archeology. As San Francisco grew and gentrified, communities changed, shifted, and were displaced. Bars, restaurants, parks, alleys, bathhouses, and other gathering spots of the q***r community were remodeled, repurposed, rebuilt, or destroyed. Submerged Q***r Spaces looks at the architectural remains of historic sites and buildings in San Francisco."
