Very encouraging!

A noninvasive method for measuring blood glucose levels, developed at MIT, could save diabetes patients from having to prick their fingers several times a day. The device uses Raman spectroscopy to measure blood glucose levels without any needles.

We are closing... ⚓️⚓️⚓️

Today is April 3, 2025. Last week was the anniversary of Andrew's diagnosis decades ago when he was just 6 years old! Yesterday was the anniversary of this horrible disease taking his life. Since the 1990's I have dedicated my life to raising money for the treatment and ultimate cure of diabetes. It breaks my heart we don't have one, HOWEVER, many many advances have been made for the treatment, one including the CGM which probably would have saved his life. He lost his life before FDA approval. In August of 2012 I created this nonprofit and worked tirelessly to raise money. I'm looking back at all the photos on this page, and others, of all the hard work that was put in. SO MUCH hard work! I am grateful to so many people for serving on our board of directors and for all the many many many volunteers. My heart is full. But today I am here because I am announcing this chapter of my life is closed. I have had a very rough past two years health wise and I'm finally getting to feel stronger. There are other goals in my life I want to succeed in before my time on earth is done. Type 1 will always be in my heart, but now I'd like to do a few more things in my son's memory. I will continue to pray for a cure. Thank you all for the love and support. With much love, Patricia Erickson ❤️

For those of you who never met Andrew, you'll never understand why we miss him so much. He REALLY was one of the best! Yes, he was our son, our brother, a dear friend but the bottom line, he was an exceptional young man, dearly loved. We miss him so much. Tomorrow he would have turned 40!!! 40!!! I just cannot believe it! Would he have been married?? Would he have children? He would have made such a wonderful husband and father. He missed out on so much living :( I still look out my kitchen window waiting for him to walk up and give me one of his famous smiles. Happy 40th birthday in Heaven Andrew. I hope you know how much we love and miss you....❤🥰❤🥰🎂⚓⚓

Type 1 until type none

Founded in 2012, “Anchored in a Cure,” was created as a loving memoriam in honoring my son, Andrew Erickson.

Andrew, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of Six.

Andrew grew up understanding his disease, and the limitations it could render upon him, but he continued his life valiantly. He loved his family, and friends, and he loved his life.
