Men’s Health Month is a reminder to pay attention to your health and not ignore what feels unusual.

For Kurt Coleman, that message is personal. His father, Ron Coleman, faced breast cancer with courage and chose to speak openly about his diagnosis so other men might take their own health more seriously and act sooner.

His story is a meaningful reminder that awareness matters, early action matters and stigma should never stand in the way of care.

As this year’s Novant Health Chief of Staff IGNITE internship continues, this cohort is already bringing hard work, curiosity and commitment to every part of the experience.

A huge thank you to the Novant Health and Novant Health Foundation leaders who are investing their time in these interns. Your mentorship and encouragement are helping make this experience so meaningful.

We can’t wait to watch this group flourish over the following weeks!

Access to care is changing in a powerful way for our Novant Health Coastal Region.

Opening June 16, Scotts Hill Medical Center - the first new hospital in New Hanover County in nearly 60 years - will bring advanced care closer to home. With an Emergency Department that’s more than doubled in size, it’s built to serve more patients, more quickly, when it matters most.

A major step forward for healthcare in North Carolina.

On National Cancer Survivors Day, we honor the strength, hope and resilience of all those touched by cancer.

Kasey’s story is such a meaningful reflection of that. When she was facing cancer, she was absolutely terrified, but she found comfort in not only her family and friends but also an incredible care team who saw her and treated her as more than a patient.

Today, Kasey is giving back through the Guardian Angel program to honor the doctor and care team who helped carry her through.

If a caregiver has made a difference in your life, join Kasey in honoring them through the Guardian Angel program ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/NHFguardianangel

Big impact can start with one inspired person.

That’s exactly what happened when Queens University of Charlotte student athlete, Emily Protiva, took the lead - bringing people together to create 60 Care-in-a-Kits for pediatric patients and the nurses who care for them every day.

From hands-on support to thoughtful appreciation, this project touched so many lives. We feel lucky to have community members like Emily who inspire kindness and action all around them!

The impact Dr. Kathy Jordan had on nursing, and on the people around her, is something that continues to ripple forward every day.

She poured her heart into mentoring students, strengthening education, and making sure future nurses were truly ready to care for others when it matters most.

That passion didn’t end with her. It lives on through the Kathleen S. Jordan Memorial Scholarship, made possible by a community that believes in what she stood for, including MEMA, Carolina Complete Health, and those closest to Kathy.

If you’ve ever been cared for by a nurse who made a difference in your life, you’ve felt the kind of impact Kathy worked so hard to create.

Help carry that impact forward. Today, as we remember Kathy on her birthday and anniversary, we invite you to carry that impact forward by making a gift to the scholarship fund that carries her legacy forward > https://presby.supportnovanthealth.org/campaign/756763/donate

Team Hemby is back for the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, and this year we’re setting a big goal together.

Through our campaign, we’re encouraging all 11,500 runners to raise $100 for Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital. If every participant joins in, together we could raise $1.15 million to support the kids and families who count on Hemby for care!

A special thank you to Dr. Jermeliah Martin for sharing the real impact of this fundraising and to Team Hemby captain Myles Wynn for sharing his family’s story and helping inspire this effort.

Whether you’re running, cheering or simply want to support the cause, anyone can join Team Hemby and help make every mile matter ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/hundredforhemby

Your iced coffee run tomorrow can do a little extra good.

On Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day (tomorrow!), $1 from every Iced Coffee or Cold Brew sold will support the Dunkin' Joy In Childhood Foundation. Funds raised through this one-day campaign are granted back into the regions where they are raised, helping support children in local communities like ours.

After helping fund the mural at Ballantyne Medical Center, it is especially meaningful to see Dunkin’ continue showing up for children in our Charlotte community through this one-day campaign. If you are stopping by Dunkin' on Wednesday, May 27, make it an iced coffee or cold brew and sip for a cause.
