This week, the Gary Hammond Scholarship Foundation had the honor of presenting Mika Langdon and Tanner Stewart, both of Bandys High School, each with $2500 scholarships. The presentation was made at Bandys High School's awards banquet. Mia Hammond, Gary's oldest daughter, bravely stood up in front hundreds of people and told them about Gary and our mission at GHSF.

Both Mika and Tanner were selected from an impressive group of candidates. In the end, Mika and Tanner were chosen by our Scholarship subcommitte, comprised of current and former educators, including two School Superintendents.

Mark your calendars for Monday, September 14 as this will be our 2026 golf outing. It will again be held at Cowans Ford Country Club. More details to come.

Three years ago today, the world lost an amazing man! He was a husband, father, son, brother and friend to many. To all those people whose lives were touched by Gary, the Gary Hammond Scholarship Foundation mourns with you!

Well....tomorrow is the big day as we host our 2nd annual Gary Hammond Scholarship Foundation Charity Golf Classic. We have 30 teams, a Hole-In-One opportunity worth $10,000 and other prizes available.

We will also have a 1/2 and 1/2 raffle as well as other items to raffle off.

Make sure to purchase your GH Mulligan Package at check-in if you haven't already done so. The GH Mulligan Package gets you 2 mulligans per person as well as entry into the putting contest as well as the 2 Closest to the Pin contests. You must purchase at GH package to participate in the contests.

Shotgun start at 11:00
Check In opens at 9:30

Free driving range balls are available for warmup.

We'll have opening announcements at 10:50 before we send everyone out.

We are one week away from our 2nd Annual Gary Hammond Scholarship Foundation Charity Golf Classic. We have room for three more teams before we are maxed out. Registration closes at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8, so get your teams registered ASAP.

This year's event will include a chance to win $10,000 in our first ever hole-in-one contest. It will also include 2 closest to the pin contests and a putting contest. Players will need to purchase a GH Mulligan package to be considered for the closest to the pin and putting competition. The hole-in-one contest is open to all participants.

We will also have a half and half raffle as well as raffles for other items. It promises to be a fun day to remember our friend Gary Hammond.

As a reminder, the golf course has asked us to move the SHOTGUN START time back to 11:00, so that means registration now opens at 9:30 instead of 8:30. Volunteers will be on site by 8:00 to help direct people on where to go for set up.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Cowan's Ford Country Club on October 13.

Well, last year was such a smashing success.....so let's do it again this year. On Monday, October 13th at 10:00 am, we will have our 2nd Annual Gary Hammond Foundation Golf Tournament at Cowan's Ford Country Club in Stanley, NC (Denver, NC area).

We sold out last year and had teams on a wait list, so don't wait. Team entry is the same as last year - $500 / team +$35/person for a GH Mulligan package.

Please consider making a donation. Any donation of $50 or more will be entered in to a raffle for a free foursome at Cowan’s Ford for a future date.

We are just a week away from the BIG DAY!! We can't wait to see all the golfers and volunteers there as we celebrate the occasion. Don't forget it's also Veteran's Day, so where your patriotic pride.
