Dr Jessica Roberts/We Care Chiropractic (pictured) was our presenter last week. Dr Roberts, our newest member, was born in New Haven, CT and grew up in Charlotte. She obtained Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic and is certified to adjust pregnant women. She has recently opened her solo practice “We Care Chiropractic” in Mooresville. She shared some of her success stories. Her passions are reading, travel, and gardening.

Kim Brannon/Edgewater Residential Capital (pictured) was last week's presenter. A purchaser was interested in a multi-acre property with a home that “needed some work” - so much that the appraiser’s opinion (and others) was that it would be best demolished. However, the purchaser desired to repair it. Kim took us through the steps and requirements to obtain a Renovation Loan for the structure.

Thanks to Kelly Weaver/Weaver Wealth Management (pictured) for giving the 2026 mid-year market analysis. It has been an mostly positive but mixed year so far. Inflation and AI were dominate themes. Companies supplying semiconductors and power for AI are doing well. His presentation is attached, and you can visit his website for the entire Guide to the Market report.

Susan Johnson/Susan Johnson & Associates (pictured) was last week's presenter. She discussed four types of real estate fraud: Wire Fraud, Seller Impersonation, Mortgage Fraud, and Rental Scams. During her career, she has experienced examples of each type. Best defense is awareness, due diligence, and the use of a reputable and experience realtor.

Capt Dr Mike Miltich/Carolina Grace LKN (pictured) was our host last meeting. We met aboard the Carolina Grace, and the evening featured a delectable meal prepared by Blake Mitkoff/Inside Chef, one of the CG charter caterers. Our Bill Boan/Carolinas Home Inspections (pictured) was our last presenter. Bill highlighted the differences between his level of detail in his inspection report vs some competitor’s, noting the number of photos he includes in his report as well as detailing the various materials used for specific applications (roofing, crawl space, etc.).

This week (July 8) will be a special off-site meeting aboard Carolina Grace LKN (Safe Harbor Kings Point Marina, 18020 Kings Point Dr, Cornelius). The presentation will be by Blake from “Inside Chef”. He is creating a special promotional dinner for LKNXB members:

Boarding begins at 6pm. We will not be leaving the pier for this event.

Thanks to Pat Burke/Burke Builder-Developer (pictured) for our last presentation. Pat was born into a construction family and was soon putting on roofs and installing dry wall as a teenager. He quickly started his own construction business, and since he had 5 younger brothers, had a built-in reliable work crew. Many of his brothers have remained in the construction industry, including one that is his partner.

Pat showcased his portfolio of short term rental properties known as Blue Sky Village. They are new construction, modern, and with laundry facilities. They vary in size going from multi-bedroom to the new “small home” style. Locations include Mooresville, Cornelius, Charlotte, Savannah, Folly Beach, and Mexico City.

Bill Boan/Carolinas Home Inspections will be giving the 10min. There will not be a meeting the following week in observation of July 4th Holiday (Happy 250th Birthday USA). Thanks to Peter Stauner/PlanX Solutions (pictured) for our last presentation. He talked about the benefits of routinely rebooting your computer. That is preferred over shutting down. Rebooting results in boosting performance, frees up memory, installs updates, and resolves glitches. He advised making rebooting a weekly event.
