Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone, TJ’s 5th HEART-iversary! 💚
Five years ago today, TJ received the gift of life through a heart transplant at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. Born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), TJ had already endured multiple open-heart surgeries, countless procedures, and challenges that most people could never imagine.
As we mark this anniversary, we are filled with gratitude. We are forever thankful to the donor family whose incredible act of love and selflessness made this day possible. There are simply no words to express how much that gift means to TJ and our entire family. We think of them often and keep them in our hearts and prayers.
Today, because of that gift, TJ is able to do what he loves most — spending time with family and friends, playing baseball and football, and embracing life with the same determination and heart that have carried him through every challenge.
We are also deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses, caregivers, family, friends, and supporters who have walked alongside TJ throughout his journey.
TJ, watching you grow, thrive, and chase your dreams has been one of life's greatest blessings. We are so proud of the young man you are becoming and all that you have overcome.
