Over 350 registered as participants and day-of mentors. We would like to thank all of our sponsors and donors for their support!
This year's summit included Emcee - Comedian Timothy A. Shropshire, Guest Speaker - Doug James (General Manager of Radio One) break out sessions, free breakfast, lunch and snacks. Our breakout sessions included MADV – M.E.N. Against Domestic Violence(Emotional), Train Like a Pro (Physical), Know Ur Why (Mental) , and Outside the Lines(Financial).
The M.E.N. Summit is FREE for all boys in grades 7-12. The summit develops a bond built on goal specific engagement and empowerment. We recognize there are limited resources for our boys to learn and appreciate the possibilities outside of their environment and/or athletics. Through our programming the youth will be exposed, empowered, and engaged by dynamic men in our community.
When our youth are engaged in structured and fun activities during non-school hours, they are less likely to start abusing alcohol and drugs, and less likely to become involved with gangs, skip school, and far more likely to graduate from high school and go on to college. The solution in many cases has been the community’s ability to provide their youth with an atmosphere that fosters and encourages positive growth and exposure.
