The Urban League of Central Carolinas is a multi-service, non-profit Agency, organized in 1978. Its mission is to advocate for and equip African Americans and all underserved communities with the tools to achieve social and economic equality through education, training and placement. Our range of programs can benefit anyone in need of education, skills training, career development, employment serv

ices, and youth programs. We serve persons from all economic levels - from area professionals to those living within designated “fragile” and “at risk” neighborhoods. Having served over 35,000 people, we proudly celebrate over 40 years of service to this community.

What an eventful and historic week it has been for the Urban League of Central Carolinas! So many amazing things have been happening across the Queen City—but we have to take a moment to recap The Gathering! 🎉

Hosted in partnership with the Stellar Network during Charlotte’s first-ever Stellar Awards Week, The Gathering brought families together at Ramblewood Park for an unforgettable afternoon filled with music by DJ Roxci, live entertainment, free food, games, community resources and book bag giveaways for students preparing for the new school year.

Our President and CEO, Robyn Lake Hamilton, welcomed an incredible group of leaders and community partners, including Don Jackson, founder of the Stellar Gospel Music Awards; Riley; Rhonda Jackson of the Stellar Awards; Charlotte City Councilman Malcom Graham; Alicia Adamson; Sarah Shephard; Ninnet Bowman of Spectrum;and Anna London, President and CEO of Charlotte Works.

Having the Jackson family represented across three generations made this celebration of community, legacy and impact even more meaningful.

This event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors and community partners: Stellar Network, Food Lion, Spectrum, Accenture, CVS, Walmart, Laff House and Alternatives to Violence (ATV). Thank you for investing in our families and helping us create such a memorable celebration for the Exit 4 / Nations Ford community.

The Urban League of Central Carolinas is proud to have an advertisement featured on the kiosk, inviting community members to participate in our programs and take advantage of resources designed to help them learn, grow, and thrive.

Public-private partnerships like this are what make communities stronger and richer. When we work together to expand access and provide opportunities to more people, that’s good community work!

Crystal founded Healthy Self Today to support high-achieving women navigating burnout, life transitions, and the pressure of holding everything together while quietly falling apart.

Through her telehealth mental health practice, she creates a safe space where women can heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves.

Through the IDEAS Accelerator with National Urban League and Intuit, Crystal gained something that’s hard to find as a solo entrepreneur—structure, community, and language for what she was already building intuitively.
