WE DESPERATELY NEED VOLUNTEERS!

The need in our community has reached an extraordinary level. Hearts United for Good is currently providing more than 8,000 bags of groceries every week, and we simply cannot continue meeting this demand without more helping hands.

We need volunteers on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Various shifts are available, so whether you can give us two hours, one afternoon, or one day each week, your time will make a genuine difference.
There is a place for everyone!

Volunteers can help pack grocery bags, sort and organize donations, stock shelves, prepare orders, assist clients, clean, and handle many other essential tasks. We welcome individuals, families, students, businesses, churches, civic organizations, and groups of all sizes. No special experience is needed—just willing hands and an open heart.

This is SO MUCH MORE than filling bags. It's helping a senior keep food on the table, helping parents feed their children, and honestly - your help is reminding people facing incredibly difficult circumstances that their community has not forgotten them.

Another sweltering Pride in the books, and Charlotte was yet again AMAZING! 🏳️‍🌈

We had an absolute blast with our Hearts United for Good float in the 2026 Charlotte Pride Parade - celebrating alongside this beautiful, FABULOUS community we are so incredibly proud to be part of!!

Every year, showing up for Pride means so much to us. At HUG, our doors - and our hearts - are always open to EVERYONE. No exceptions. We believe every person deserves to feel safe, supported, celebrated.... and loved EXACTLY as they are.

Thank you to everyone who braved the raging heat, who waved, cheered, danced, smiled, and celebrated with us along the parade route. You made an already special day even more unforgettable!!!

We promise that no matter what - we will always keep showing up. We will always keep standing beside our community... and most importantly, we will ALWAYS keep choosing kindness, inclusion, compassion, and LOVE.

Because at the end of the day, LOVE ALWAYS WINS ❤️

Many years ago, I was in Haiti. We were traveling back from a mountain village when we had to stop to change a tire. While we waited, I noticed a pile of freshly harvested carrots. It was nearly five feet tall—a breathtaking mound of vibrant, bright-orange carrots with long, green leaves still attached.

I was mesmerized.

They were not only beautiful; I could feel the energy, effort, and care that had gone into creating such a bountiful harvest. I thought about the people who would soon enjoy the deliciousness of those beautiful carrots.

Yesterday, I found myself standing in front of an abundance of eggs, and I had that same emotional experience.

Some people might simply see a bunch of eggs. But I see the faces of the families in need who will receive them. I see the meals they will become. I see the relief they will bring.

And I see you—the people who have partnered with us to make this abundance possible.

What may seem like a small act of kindness to one person can be a miracle to someone in need.

That is the power of generosity. That is the power of community. And that is how abundance becomes hope.

2026 Hearts United for Good PANTRY MID-YEAR REPORT - Our minds are BLOWN y'all!

Over the first six months of 2026, Hearts United for Good distributed more than 730,000 POUNDS OF FOOD and essential items to families throughout our community.

That represents nearly 50,000 grocery bags, an estimated 608,000+ meals, and more than $1.2 million worth of food placed into the hands of people who needed it most. IN JUST 6 SHORT MONTHS!

What makes these numbers even more incredible is how we achieved them.

Through amazing partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and the generosity of our community, we were able to make this happen at just $12,527.82 cost to us!!! Which means are stretching every dollar donated to HUG into approximately 58 pounds of groceries.

But behind every pound is something SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than a number…. It's a parent who didn't have to choose between groceries and rent, or a senior who could afford medication because food was no longer another impossible expense.

It's a child who had breakfast before school, or a family that felt seen, supported, and reminded that they aren't alone.
To every volunteer who packed bags, every donor who believed in our mission, every community partner who stood beside us, and every person who constantly supports us and shares our story…

These numbers belong to ALL of us.

SO THANK YOU ALL - for helping us prove that when a community comes together with compassion, incredible things happen ❤

One of our favorite things about what we do is getting to support other like-minded people and organizations who are out there every day making our community better!

This week, we have a huge supply of bulk snacks at Hearts United for Good that we would love to pass along to the schools, nonprofits, outreach groups, youth programs, recovery organizations, food pantries, assisted living facilities, and community groups that are serving our neighbors right alongside us!!

Whether you're feeding kids during summer programs, stocking a pantry shelf, packing outreach bags, supporting residents, or simply trying to stretch your budget a little further so you can do more good, we would love to share what we have with you.

Chips, pretzels, crackers, pork skins, and plenty more will be available — completely FREE of charge!!!!

We know that every single dollar saved on snacks is a dollar that can be redirected toward your mission, your clients, and your community…. So, If we can help lighten the load even a little bit, that's EXACTLY what we're here for!

We are looking for helping hands across ALL kinds of roles - greeting guests at check-in, packing & fulfilling orders, stocking inventory, and more!! Whatever your skills or schedule, there's literally a place for you on our HUG team.

HUGE THANK YOU to our friends at Hydration Station Foundation, to everyone who threw a party for us, and to everyone who took the time to sip and celebrate and help raise money for an amazing cause!!! This money will go directly to our HUG programming, helping people (and pets) all through Mecklenburg County!

Another Mimosa season benefits this community! Thank you everyone for helping us raise over $41,000 for Hearts United for Good. We know this money will immediately go to help at risk individuals in our community.
