The Charlotte Concert Band (CCB) is a volunteer community band of professional and dedicated amateur musicians from the greater Charlotte, North Carolina region. Our mission is to provide lifelong participation in music through quality performances of classic concert band repertoire. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization funded by donations, grants, and our affiliation with Queens University

Last night felt a little like the first day of school! 🎶📚

The Charlotte Concert Band kicked off a brand-new season with a new director, new music on the stands, and plenty of excitement about what’s ahead.

🎶 The countdown to our first rehearsal is on...

In about a week, Dr. Dawn A. Price will step onto the podium for her first rehearsal as Music Director of the Charlotte Concert Band.

A few things you may not know about Dr. Price:
🎺 She has nearly three decades of music education experience.
🎵 She's taught everyone from middle school musicians to college students.
📯 She has performed on trombone with regional ensembles.

🎉 It's HERE!

We're excited to officially announce the Charlotte Concert Band's 2026–2027 Concert Season! 🎶

From timeless classics to holiday favorites, movie music, and everything in between...we can't wait to share another incredible season with you.

Our season includes Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue (Oct. 10), Traditions of Christmas (Dec. 12), Heroes, Heroines, and Villains Galore! (Feb. 27), plus The Soundtrack of Our Lives coming later in the season.

🎶 The countdown is on!

In just a few weeks, the Charlotte Concert Band begins rehearsals for our 2026–2027 season, and we couldn't be more excited!

New music. New memories. A brand-new Music Director. And another season of sharing music with our Charlotte community.

Summer playlists are great.

But there's something about live music in the fall — cooler air, a full hall, 80 musicians all pointed in the same direction — that a playlist just can't touch.

We'll be ready when the season gets here. Hope you will be too.

Every section has a job. The percussion section has about twelve.

Snare drum, bass drum, timpani, mallet instruments, auxiliary percussion — and the constant challenge of making it all sound like one cohesive voice instead of a collection of things being hit.

It's more complicated than it looks. Our percussionists would like you to know that.
