Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation

Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation was created in 1994 to support one of our community's most valued assets, Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit organization that exclusively supports the strategic plan of Atrium Health Cabarrus through fundraising initiatives. Through an organized program, 39 board members and hundreds of volunteers work diligently seeking financial gifts from families, friends, and businesses. These gifts are used to support capital campaigns, build medical center endowments

, improve patient care, provide the newest medical technology, upgrade existing facilities and provide educational opportunities for our community and staff. More than $24 million has been returned to Atrium Health Cabarrus to support projects such as the purchase of critical care beds, the Infant and Pediatric Security System, the Stealth Surgical System, the building of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, Jeff Gordon Children's Center, Breast Health Center at Atrium Health Cabarrus and the Tucker Hospice House Expansion Campaign. 100% of the gifts given to Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation go towards the donor-directed cause and all gifts are tax deductible. Your generous donations and contributions help to make these advances possible - right here in our community! Behavioral health needs continue to grow across our community, making access to quality care more important than ever. Last week, our team was honored to join community leaders, healthcare partners, and supporters for the ribbon cutting of the Steve M. Morris Behavioral Health Center. This incredible new facility will expand access to compassionate, specialized behavioral healthcare for both adults and children, helping meet a critical need in our region. We're grateful to celebrate this important milestone and the positive impact it will have on the health and well-being of our community.

Foundation team and Board of Directors recently kicked off our very first Morning Java Chat—a new monthly gathering where we can enjoy a cup of coffee, connect with one another, and share ideas. These informal conversations give us the opportunity to talk more about the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation's mission and the many ways we support Atrium Health Cabarrus and the healthcare needs of our community. We're looking forward to many more mornings filled with coffee, collaboration, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

We were excited to celebrate the 89th Birthday of Atrium Health Cabarrus yesterday. It all began with the vision and generosity of Mr. Charles A. Cannon and Mr. George A. Batte, Jr., who believed Cabarrus County deserved access to exceptional healthcare close to home.

As we celebrate 89 years of caring for our community, we also honor the legacy that made it all possible. In 1937, inspired by the growing needs of families and employees of Cannon Mills, Mr. Cannon and Mr. Batte created Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. The small private "sick house" on Union Street could no longer meet the needs of a rapidly growing community and a new chapter of local healthcare began.

What started as a 46-bed and 10 bassinet hospital has evolved from a small, county-owned facility into the now 457 licensed beds, multiple clinical services, substantial inpatient and outpatient network with over 380 physicians and over 4,000 employees. While healthcare has changed over the last 89 years and continues to change each day, one thing has remained, our unwavering commitment to providing HEALTH, HOPE AND HEALING FOR ALL.

This journey began with generosity and continues today with generosity from our donors and supporters just like you. We THANK YOU for your support yesterday, today and the future as we continue to CELEBRATE CARE AND HONOR OUR LEGACY!

Thankful for our healthcare team here in Cabarrus!

Last week, we surprised the Johns family at their Habitat for Humanity home dedication—a moment that came months after they lost everything in Hurricane Helene. When 11-year-old Jamie was rescued from a devastating mudslide and flown to Atrium Health Cabarrus, our care team didn't just care for one patient—they cared for an entire family. They provided medical care, clothing, supplies, reunited them with their beloved dog Tucker, and stood beside them as they began to rebuild. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation helped make their new home possible through Habitat for Humanity of Cabarrus County. This is what health, hope, and healing look like. With our Foundation and hospital, we're more than a community—we're family.
