✨ NEXT WEEK IS FREE STORE! 🧢🧣👖🪞👟✨

The Free Store is a Lula Bell’s initiative with the goals of reducing waste and increasing student access to practical items. Stop by during our one-day “thrift store” and browse clothing, household items, and more. At this pop-up, we will have LOTS of residence hall room-friendly furniture, storage, and appliances, cookware and household items, and clothing—including lots of business clothing! Save money and give these gently-used items a new home!

The Free Store will be open this Thursday, September 24th from 11 a.m. to - 6 p.m. in the 900 Room in the Alvarez College Union. Come shop while supplies last!

Interested in being part of Lula Bell’s volunteer team this semester? We have several open spots left at our Volunteer Trainings this week! RSVP on WildcatSync and attend a training to join the team!

Volunteers typically work a 2-hour shift each week. During your shift, you will be responsible for working the front desk, assisting visitors, and various other tasks to help us keep the Center running. Lunch or dinner will be provided for training.

Whether a new or returning volunteer, the new semester marks a time to freshen up on volunteer responsibilities and take a moment to gather and share a meal together! Student volunteers are a large part of what makes Lula Bell’s possible, so we hope you’ll consider joining us again this semester. Link in our bio! 🔗

Hi ‘Cats! The Academic Resource Request form for Fall ‘26 is open! 📚

We provide several resources for students who face challenges in getting course materials. This includes free rentals for textbooks, calculators, writing tablets, and support with access codes. All these items can be requested through our “Academic Resource Request” form, which is open on Kuali. Round 1 of requests will close Thursday, August 27th at 12:00 p.m.! If you need support obtaining academic materials, follow the steps on the form.

We highly encourage you to wait until your Fall 2026 class schedule is finalized before making requests. If you no longer need an item from Lula Bell’s due to dropping a class, finding another way to purchase, etc., email us at [email protected]! This allows us to avoid purchasing unnecessary items, OR to free up your resource for another student who needs it.

‘Cats! We’ll be closed Thursday, July 2nd in preparation for the holiday weekend and will not host a Summer Grocery Night.

We’ve loved seeing everyone come by this summer and will resume normal summer operating hours (Tuesday/Thursday, 4-6 PM) next week, July 7th.

Happy Summer, ‘Cats! Thanks for a great first week of summer grocery!

Lula Bell’s will run our summer grocery service from June 2 - July 30. Note that our services are different in the summer compared to the school year! Here’s what you need to know:

- Students needing food support this summer and visit Lula Bell’s on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Unlike during the school year, you can shop both nights if you need to.

- Grocery and hygiene products will be available for purchase at deeply discounted rates: See our price list in our bio. As a reminder, items are available at no cost during fall & spring semesters.

- A debit or credit card is required for purchase. We are unable to charge student accounts, accept cash payments, or Venmo/CashApp etc. at this time.

- We will be continue to run our cookware checkout program through the summer, but borrow times may be adjusted to accommodate higher usage in the summer.

- Other services (such as business clothing) are available on a more limited basis than during the school year, but you can contact us if you need to utilize services outside groceries and cookware.

If you have questions or concerns about your food access, please contact [email protected] and a staff member will get back to you as soon as possible! We have limited staff during the summer, so we do not maintain open hours outside of the 4-6:00 p.m. time frame on grocery nights. For this reason, please email with questions or to set up an appointment outside the grocery night time.

Additionally, we will be closed to observe scheduled holidays. Thursday, July 30th will be the last day of summer grocery operations.

We miss you already, ‘Cats! 💜💚 We are closed until our Summer Grocery Nights begin on Tuesday, June 2nd. However, students still on campus after the conclusion of the spring semester who may be seeking additional food support can set up a shopping appointment with us in the meantime. 🛒

It’s here, it’s finally here! The PODS! 🚚

Plan ahead to donate to Lula Bell’s, International Student Engagement, and local community organizations at the end of the semester.

International Student Engagement (ISE) and Lula Bell’s Resource Center are working in conjunction with the Sustainability Office &Building Services to collect select items during move-out week in May to repurpose for incoming and returning students this fall. If you are moving out this spring and have personal items such as mini-fridges, microwaves, business or winter clothing, plastic storage containers, lamps, hangers, kitchen equipment, unused school supplies, etc. that are still in good condition, please consider donating them for future students to use. Donations will be prioritized for the “Free Store” student event organized by Lula Bell’s Resource Center and for international students traveling from abroad.

ISE & Lula Bell’s will be collecting select donations at the following locations & times:

Wednesday, May 13 (9am-5pm) - Sentelle/Cannon
Sunday, May 17 (1-5pm) - Ridge Road Parking Area (Across from Flowe Apartments)
Monday, May 18 (9am-12pm) - Ridge Road Parking Area (Across from Flowe Apartments)
