SLAY ATHLETES PLAYING COLLEGE BASKETBALL 🏀

First up: Bryce Slay — Marshall University

Bryce is entering his sophomore year after having a great summer. He added 15 pounds of muscle, continued developing his game, and is locked in and focused on taking another step this season.

This is what we want for every Slay athlete: to prepare them not only to reach the college level, but to keep developing and succeeding once they get there.

Proud of you, Bryce. Keep working.

Year Two. Let’s go! 💚🤍

From their first dribbles in Junior Slay to a 7–1 start in fall league. 🏀

These fourth graders have grown up in our program. They’ve stayed together, kept putting in the work, and now they’re competing in more advanced leagues. Coach Lando is doing a great job helping them take that next step.

This is what trusting the process looks like.

Your child’s journey can start with Junior Slay, too. Sign up now at slaybasketball.com.

Sometimes I just have to stop and thank God for the doors He keeps opening in my life.

Every day in prayer, I ask Him to guide my steps and help me hear what He’s calling me to do. When I look back, I can see His hand through it all. A kid from Beckley, West Virginia, making it to the NBA, traveling the world, and now having the opportunity to pour into young people right here in Charlotte.

The basketball journey has been a blessing. But what means the most to me now is the chance to help shape the next generation, not just as athletes, but as young men and women.

I know I didn’t get here on my own. It’s only Him. I’m grateful for where He’s brought me, and I’m going to keep following wherever He leads.

God gets all the glory. 🙏🏾

Happy Birthday to my wife, my partner, and truly the unsung hero behind everything we do. ❤️

She makes all the hustle plays that nobody sees. She handles so many things behind the scenes that allow our family and Slay Basketball Academy to function at such a high level. Her hard work, sacrifice, patience, and commitment never go unnoticed by me.

I couldn’t do any of this without you. I’m beyond grateful to have you beside me through it all. Today, we celebrate you!

Happy Birthday, Celeste! I love you! ❤️🎉

HOW DO YOU IMPACT THE GAME WHEN YOU’RE NOT SCORING? 🏀

At the end of today’s workout, I gave our players some homework: Go on YouTube and study something about basketball that has nothing to do with scoring.

Study boxing out. Help-side defense. Cutting. Screening. Talking on defense. Moving without the ball. Anything that helps your team win.

We also challenged them to bring more activity and energy when the ball isn’t in their hands—on both ends of the floor.

Everybody wants to score, but complete players understand how to impact every possession. If you disappear when you don’t have the ball, you’re missing most of the game.

Don’t just watch highlights. Study winning basketball. 💯

🚨 COACH SLAY WAS ON TMZ ! 🚨

What a cool moment! I had the opportunity to speak with TMZ Sports about the good and the bad of reclassing in youth basketball.

Reclassing can be beneficial for some student-athletes, but it isn’t the right decision for everyone. Every athlete’s situation is different, and it’s important to consider the entire child, not just basketball, rankings, or exposure.

From playing in the NBA to developing the next generation at Slay Basketball Academy—and now sharing my perspective on TMZ ! 🏀🎥🔥

I’m grateful for the opportunity!

Had the opportunity to speak with TMZ about the good and the bad of reclassing in basketball.

Reclassing can be a great move for some young athletes, giving them more time to develop physically, academically, and emotionally. But it isn’t the right decision for everybody.

It has to be about more than basketball rankings, exposure, or trying to gain an advantage. Parents need to look at the entire child, understand the long-term plan, and make sure the decision is truly in their best interest.

Every player’s journey is different. Make the decision that helps your child develop—not just as a basketball player, but as a student and a young person.

Appreciate TMZ for allowing me to share my perspective! 🏀🎥
