Mom & I went to the grocery store and bought a week of food for the shelter. A week of food is about $96.

That money buys the boring stuff. Rice, beans, eggs, oats, bars for breakfast, whatever produce was cheap this week, something for sandwiches. This week it's peanut butter. There is nothing in this cart that anyone is particularly excited about.

But it is one week no one has to think about.

Feeding everyone who comes through the door for a year runs about $5,000. If not for APC's current generous in-kind food donors, it would be even higher than that. In other words, $96 dollars a week only stays $96 because neighbors already donate some food — your gift fills the gap.

✅ If you are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability
✅ If you cannot speak due to an injury or medical condition
✅ If you're in a threatening situation and a voice call could put you at greater risk
✅ If you can't get a call to go through because of poor mobile reception

🐾Paws & Relax!🐾

Once a month, our shelter gets a little extra dose of joy and comfort thanks to Thor and his amazing human, Amanda!

Our Paws & Relax program gives shelter residents the chance to slow down, relax, and enjoy the benefits of a therapy dog.

A huge thank you to Amanda for sharing Thor's sweet spirit with our clients every month, and to Thor for being the best boy!🐶
