The First Pour was beautiful!

We are deeply grateful to every woman who braved Charlotte traffic on a Friday evening to gather with us in support of women’s mental health. Your presence, openness, and willingness to connect made the evening truly special.

From the outfit check — including my new silver fascinator, which I promptly lost — to the honest and meaningful conversations, the evening was filled with laughter, reflection, and connection. If you find my fascinator, please call me!

A special thank-you to Camil for graciously welcoming us into the beautiful Ebony Experience Gallery and creating such a thoughtful space for community. We are also grateful to SDICF Board Chair NiCole Lynch and to the twelve women who gathered in the Ebony Room Tea Lounge for a conversation that was rich, honest, and necessary.

Together, we were reminded that women need more spaces to talk openly, support one another, and destigmatize mental health care.

This is more than tea. It’s a movement.

We raised $300, but we’re not done. Help us fund therapy and bring women out of isolation and into community by donating or becoming a Mini Tea Party hostess.

Program Partner Umayal Annamalai, Creative Harmony Arts, with the HeARTful Hands Collective led six months of free workshops for the community and the results are incredible!

272 women created art, found their flow and were grounded in meditation and mindfulness at the 2-hour Roots to Rise sessions held at the Hindu Center.

Thanks to the City of Charlotte Creative Growth grant, these 12 hands-on art workshops were free for participants and included all art supplies.

Survey results collected by She Dreams In Color Foundation revealed participants felt more connected, more creative, and more confident after each artist instructed workshop. Results also reveal success in our mission to destigmatize mental health needs and seeking care through this partnership.

We are in love with our Queen’s Tea Party table photos!

Look at the community and love shared among these 12 tables that spent the afternoon together, shared tea, and leaned into vulnerable conversations.

For four years, the She Dreams In Color Foundation’s Queen’s Tea Party program has drawn 16 to 80+ year olds from all backgrounds, who hear the ties that bind them through the stories shared in the room.

This Signature Program is intentionally designed to destigmatize mental health needs and seeking care, as well as, reduce loneliness and social isolation and we’ve seen it work year after year.

Rather than sitting with friends, guests are asked to trust us to seat them with new women we are certain they will connect with in order to expand their community.

With a 92% return rate for guests, we feel good about the work we’re doing to pour into Charlotte women and mental health advocacy.

We are proud of this work and enjoy when women tell us about bonds built at this annual afternoon together.
